Hello there!

We’re still on the topic of our map development. Today we’ll show you the final design of the map skill-tree that was introduced in this article.

The first picture shows the beginning of the skill-tree (on the left), with no statue heads and no coins collected.

Map skill-tree design, part 1


This picture shows that the player has already collected some statue heads (the yellow tiles on the path), and has already gotten multiple upgrades (yellow and blue tiles). The six variously colored squares outside of the path are indicators for collected coins. There is one for every environment, and it fills as you collect the coins.

The last picture shows the end of the map skill-tree (on the right). The red square in the structure indicates that the coins in the red environment have all been collected - which we can also see in the coin collector square on the left. The player will gain a special bonus upon the collection of all the statue heads and all the coins in the game.
