Thanks ssd! :)
Thanks! This week's entry has turned out to be another screenshot-free entry, as I was feeling much more inclined to code than playtest, but *next* week will definitely be heavy on the screenshots :). I've now hit a point where I have to check everything is working before I move any further ahead :)
Hahaha. Close enough - but a lot of it!
Thanks, my friend - please do check-out this week's blog entry, I made a lot of progress over the weekend!
Thanks a lot, my friend! I really appreciate it - I am back, and I'm sorting my life out and getting back to normality :). Yeah, it's an amazing view, especially at night!
Ah - sincere apologies for that! Not my intention, and not something which is ever going to happen :). And thanks so much for the amazingly kind words in your final lines; they are really, really appreciated. The kindness and enthusiasm of the roguelike community has really helped me before, and it's just *so* uplifting to know that people are still interested in the project.
Not sure what you mean about 35-40! Do you mean age, temperature of Nevada, or the age most people experience burnout? But thanks :) - I think I have got it all figured out, and can *definitely* get myself back to where I want to be!
Hahaha. Thank you, internet friend :).
Aw, thanks!
Thanks! So glad you like how it's shaping up :)
Haha, sorry about that! I'll keep an eye out for that in the future...
Oh, ha! I didn't even consider the title could be read that way. Nope, worry not...
Basically, it's an adventure/puzzle/mystery game: there's a central puzzle hidden throughout the world, and your objective is to figure it out. The specifics of the puzzle, the nature of the "clues", the locations of the clues, etc, are all procedurally-generated at world generation each time. I'm glad you're excited by it though (And hope that answers your question), and I really appreciate the kind words :).
Ha! Yeah, my timescale is not THAT long...
Thanks a lot :) - I really appreciate this comment. As the calendar year goes on, things will ease up a bit, but right now is just total madness. It'll definitely good for me to come back fresher in a month or so, and it's really nice seeing all the support for this choice I've got all over the various sites URR's on!
Interesting! That won't make it into 0.8, but I'd definitely like that in 0.9 soon after :)
Thanks! I have been working on some other freelance writing jobs, I'll keep them in the updates as and when :). Generated books: absolutely!
If I do implement that - I agree!
Great bunch of questions/comments. NPCs who speak multiple: hadn't even considered that! I'll have to think about it. Trust/attitude, yes, NPCs will get tired of irrelevant or strange conversations quickly, and they'll be disinclined to share details with random people they've never met, of course. That kind of system is what I have in mind for people trusting you more. NPCs being disturbed during certain activities: I actually completely intend to implement that, and have people either refuse a conversation, or say something rude and then go back to their previous task.
Renaissance tourist simulator... but yeah, basically! :)
Thanks! I think the answer is probably "yes" to all of those!
Thanks! :)
Learning: yes, that will definitely apply for tribal nations, but not others! I think it would just get infuriating :\
But passports and things-like-passports - definitely!
Haha, my thoughts too
It's basically solving a mystery, which is hidden in what people say, what items look like, what you can read in books, etc etc. Talking to people will be a *huge* part of the game!
Haha, thanks! Yes, definitely, but not in this release :).
Thanks! :)
Hmm, thanks for the interesting question. It's not a sandbox, if that's what you're asking - it's a huge and detailed world, but also one with a distinct set of objectives and mysteries. I feel as if making another sandbox is just duplicating Dwarf Fortress, but a huge and detailed world with a totally different set of mystery-esque objectives is something very different. So you'll be able to become involved in the world's affairs, but as part of the path towards uncovering the conspiracy.
