What Pro features are you using in 5? Everything that was paywalled in 4 was unlocked in 5 so I'm curious what you needed Kickstarter for in the first place (except to purchase assets apparently).

Pretty ballsy statement from someone who was caught deleting negative comments from their Greenlight page...
We've actually decided against normal maps throughout the entire game. We tried them and they just muddied the look we were going for. Not to mention that the amount of screen space these props occupy wouldn't warrant normal maps anyway. :)
Yeah their 'snap' distance is a bit high currently. :) Thanks for the comment!
Normal mapping is in the pipeline - just not implemented yet. As for the saturation and cleanliness of the diffuse texture, that was intentional. :)
Thanks for the great feedback!
That's very true. These are more thematic exercises than anything else so that Ryan can get the look and feel at a high level and then run with it to create a series of props.
We definitely have a lot of plans beyond the scope of this game. Thanks a bunch for the positive feedback. :)
When Todd first showed us this the bricks were actually a bit brighter than they are now. I can definitely see your point but we wanted to make sure it stood out with map lighting, fog, and any other effects we put in maps. It'll all be a work in progress until we get a look and feel we like.
Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks!
Man I need to run through our image comments more often. This is hilarious! I love Oddities. Good ol' "Creepy Edgar" as my wife calls him.
Free. The plan is to do some Alpha Funding to get a Pro license. Among other things. Hopefully the cool folks here can help that happen! :)
Thanks!
Yeah - the best thing about Unity in my mind is that you get access to almost all of the .NET(Mono) framework as well. Without it, we wouldn't be able to implement any of the modding features we have. We've essentially thrown out Unity's entire workflow and are building our own from scratch.
Our goal has always been to make a game with a flexible modding API and to support the mods that come out of the community. I'm not sure what our motivation would be to make a mod instead of a standalone game.
While we do have ideas for some persistent elements in the game we currently have no plans to implement a nation building mechanic.
The modding tools will be integrated directly into the game client but will also always be available for free as a separate download. In terms of final price for the game - we're not entirely sure yet as we're just not far enough along. We're probably going to do some alpha funding at some point and offer the game at a lower price for folks who want to get in early.
Hi!
I've only been showing sample-sized maps for the moment in order to show off specific features as they're implemented. The final map sizes will be the result of constant tweaking as we develop the game and feel out how it plays.
No worries - I can see how it would appear odd. In reality, Fractured State is just a mod built using the framework.
Thanks for the interest!
Of course. The game uses the same system as the mods for loading data so I have to develop the system in order to develop the game.
There's nothing stopping you from using it now. It wouldn't be very interesting because of the lack of features, but it's there to tinker with. :)
lol, never expected to get some Desura love for my old college project. Thanks guys!
Oh man - sneaky Robert Khoo plug. Khoo-fu!
With all due respect, 'no answer' does not equate to 'yes'. Also, I just found the correspondences you sent to me and you said that you would credit my team with the creation of these assets. You have not done so. Sadly, had you followed through with that I would have had no issue in allowing you to use them in your project. However, out of respect to my team who spent several years working on these projects, I am going to politely ask you to remove the images from your moddb profile and to discontinue use of these assets in your mod. Thanks for your cooperation.
Most of the assets in this mod are being used without permission and credit from one of my former projects. Moddb.com
I would appreciate if you wanted to use my old assets from Rise of Rome and Rise of Rome II that would have had the courtesy to ask permission to do so before posting this as your own work. Moddb.com
Can a staffer fix the videos? Audio is way in front of the video.
How did this even make it onto the front page?
Because aliens using laser blasters is a super original idea.
What? um...no, not even close.
