I finally have the next update done, it took a little longer than I would have liked though, hope you enjoy the update.
THIS VERSION IS NOT IN THE AUTO-UPDATER. YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD IT HERE! (unless you update it through Desura)
Unfortunately because the update is a lot bigger I don't have the bandwidth to spare for such a large auto-update size. In the future I'll rent a dedicated server and this won't be a problem, but for now at least I wanted to try and keep my costs low.
You can get it here:
Gamefront.com

i love this game. i must say though, its a little wierd that non of the npc's that roam around have gold. all the baddies ive killed (or ran and had the guards kill) had no gold. also the lvling mechanic is not clear. ex: i click on the "1" for first strength upgrade, but to no affect.
overall i think this game will be great!
btw: you should add in tournements or duel for money aspect, it provides a post apocolyptic flair that allows the player to risk it all!
I just bought the game and after falling victim to an incredible urge to keep on playing i have to say that the potential it shows is baffling, keep up the good work, i'll be lookng forward to the next update :)
The game looks like its going to be fun and very unique, but currently is a bug-fest, boring and annoying to actually play. (I did only play the demo, though. Maybe when its more complete i'll buy)
Please, can you focus more on the obvious bug problems then more content. Right now i can barely get an understanding on what i'm actually trying to do here.
You start out weak as crap, I had to do a long search on tips and the best one was "Lead enemys to the guards at the gates so you can rob them, get money buy better armor and level up."
This is not a good way to start out the game, having to basicly rely on a game-breaking bug to actually "play" the game. Please make our characters start out stronger or at-least make roaming groups of only 1-3 enemys. So we can fight them without relying on guards.
Other then this, it seems OK. I can't wait for more updates, so. Good luck on making the game. I may end up buying it when it seems playable, in my opinion.
many of the bugs that u probably experienced have been solved in updates since the demo. there is still the issue of it being very difficult to level up at the start of the game :P but it does get a lot more fun once u have levelled even if there is still a lack of content.
I think, making "our characters start out stronger or at-least make roaming groups of only 1-3 enemys" would break the point of the game, and make it less realistic.
The description says "at the start of the game almost everyone will be stronger than you, and survival will always be a struggle" so it makes sense that you are weak at the start. It's open, free roam and non-linear, so you have to work out your own ways of doing things. I assume bugs would be fixed by the developer soon :P
Immerse and explore.
Will there be a Linux version or must I use wine? As installing windows just for this game seems rather inappropriate.
will it be on steam?
steam is crap
They don't do the alpha-funding, so not in the nearby future, I suppose. But as soon as it is 1.0 - I think yes, as it's well-known enough. And given the current Steam track of giving keys for direct indie sales, I suppose it's a safe bet to assume we'll get Steam keys later.
It's more convenience. With most of my games i'm using steam so that launches on startup. Then i'll go to alternative clients when i want to play a game using those clients so Impulse, Origin, Desura, etc. They all do it rather easy.
When it comes to then using gamersgate, Green Man Gaming, you end up delving into just doing each game one by one.
It's mainly convenience even if the convenience only saves a few seconds :P
