Even before the release, I read that was a good chance that the Oil Rush released an SDK for full or partial modification of the game. My question is - will have fans in general, whether the SDK and if your answer is yes, when did it happen?
im currently in computer class and i hope that game-design minor will replace unity-3d (which is crap and windows/mac only) with unigine! unigine is far more advanced an runs on linux natively! i had to work with unity (no NOT the shell for ubuntu, thats great but the game-design program) just once, we had to import a blender file... wel why just dont use blender then? i still have to choose a minor, and i really like game design but i don t think i will because of the crappy software they use...
So, you think Unity is crap because you can't "directly" use it on your OS instead of using something like a Virtual Machine or "Dual-Booting" your OS?
Any plans for after Oil Rush, I mean does the company plan to make other games or just oil rush and thats it??
We'll see =)
Unigine is the best engine I've come across. Not just in terms of how advanced it is, but also the support they've built up around it. A heap of tutorials that are very straight-forward and demos of all the common techniques.
I thoroughly recommend getting a copy of the evaluation version from their website and you'll see what I mean!
:)
Special indie deal on licensing Unigine engine: Unigine.com
OK, it's time to update the page a little bit =)
BTW we have added Oil Rush (Unigine-powered naval strategy game) page as well: Indiedb.com
It's already available on Mac: Unigine.com
Well I know that now ever since it was released!
