13th April 1969 - The Vietnam War had been raging for 6 years already with US forces in a stalemate with the Vietcong, by 1969 the US Start a strategic bombing campaign, dropping tons of explosive ordnance on the NVA, however this proves to be a waste of time, as the NVA use this as cover to move troops further south into South Vietnam

The US realise this and by April start to route out presence of NVA forces in small villages, these villages usually contained NVA troops, or civilians collaborators that houses weaponry to take down US troops

seen here in this picture, the US Air Cav sweep down onto a River Village, and start to secure it, however NVA reinforcements arrive in the nick of time and a clash of the 2 armies commence
