30th November 1943 - Huon Peninsula Campaign, the Papa New Guinea Campaign was a long and bloody campaign, the intense jungle hindered Allied movement through the island, with almost no major roads supplies and vehicles found it extremely difficult to manoeuvre

The Australians initiate a small campaign to take out the Japanese on the peninsula of Huon, on the 27th November the Australians had moved through constant jungle and reached Wareo, a small fishing village that ran along the Song River.
