I'm really pleased to see this coming along nicely. However, as a Linux (Desura) user, my install still doesn't 'just work' and, I see from the Indie Stone forums, the workaround still seems fairly torturous.

Any love for the Linux build coming soon?

Damn, I bought DOM3 from Shrapnel (at a discount) a few weeks back, but they ony allow you to d/l the client for 10 days AND you don't get access to the clients for any other OS! A measly service indeed.

I've just bought the Linux-32bit version, but it isn't showing on my account.

More specifically, Desura tells me that I've bought it, but it does not appear in my Play list.

Will new map pack be offered via Desura?

Sound is also broken on Ubuntu 11.10 after update to latest *Red* verison.

Thanks Cycyx. I've received a url from the guys at Mode 7. I can now run it outside of Desura at least.

Hopefully Desura will get updated at some point too.

Sorry, I'm using Linux and forgot Desura is also for Windows. I'm after an updated Linux client - which is not offered for d/l from the mode 7 server or w/e.

I'm thinking that the spamming of spells should be slowed down a bit. You can lob balls of fire at crazy rates :)

How about some stamina limit whilst in melee? Being able to hold lmb continuously doesn't feel right.

I'd forgotten that I'd capped SS fps to 60 using this command in /gamedata/config.cfg:

"cl_maxfps" "60"

adding this to Tomes' config file keeps the CPU usage down to something more sensible ~ 40 - 50% of one core on a 3GHz Core Duo :) Ah, peace and quiet :D

For others, fps can be shown by also adding: "showfps" "1"

Interesting! Can you explain the difference I see between SS and Tomes regarding CPU utilisation? It's weird how top shows 100% for the tomes process, but CPU idle is at 50%, when SS doesn't behave this way.

I'll take another look again tonight.

Anyway, looking forward to more stuff 'to do' in Tomes :)

I enjoyed Steel Storm and have taken a punt on this also. I'm not much into 2D dungeon crawlers, but this is fun :)

I have a bone to pick though: it seems to only use a single core (at 100%) of my CPU at present. This is causing my CPU fan to spin-up to annoying levels. Is there something I can change in config? For reference, Steel Storm looks like it's spreading the load nicely across my Core Duo.

For graphics I'm running an NVidia GTX560 and, so far, it is untroubled.

Ubuntu 11.10 32bit here.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but (on Ubuntu x32 11.10) I run Sun Java 6, not open java; I assume this is why I get a 'no java found' error on installation.

I need Sun Java for Minecraft, so I'm not sure how to resolve this to accommodate PZ :s

I'm not very experienced with KAG yet, but new features seem pretty cool - especially gliding knight :)
