The Battlefield is Your Weapon

Master natural hazards and deadly traps as you make your stand against the darkness in turn-based tactical combat. The enemies in Firstborn may be immune to mortal weapons, but they can still die. Cut a swathe through the hordes of nightmarish immortals by pushing, pulling or manoeuvring your opponents into the path of lethal hazards.

Gather and lead a party of unlikely heroes as they rise from humble beginnings to become humanity's greatest champions. As your heroes grow in power, you will master and combine powerful new abilities to turn the battlefield against your enemies.

Vanquish Mighty Bosses

Gigantic beasts haunt the forgotten corners of Firstborn's world, waiting to unleash their earth-shaking fury upon unwary travellers. Wield skill, patience, and courage to prevail against impossible odds as you cast down nightmarish titans bent on plunging the world into an endless age of darkness and ruin.

A Savage World

Take up the mantle of Aspirant and face the brutal challenge of Guile & Glory's story-driven campaign head on; or venture off the beaten track to amass forgotten lore and unravel the mysteries of the Firstborn. Each new region you explore will bring it's own challenges and unique enemies to test your mettle as you lead your heroes on a quest for revenge across an ancient world of gods and monsters.

State of the Game:

Guile & Glory: Firstborn is currently in Early Access on itch.io. If you're thinking about whether buying Early Access is right for you, we've included a list of the current features and content below:

Hello again, and welcome to another Guile & Glory: Firstborn development blog! We have some exciting news! The (probably) final version of the Guile & Glory: Firstborn pre-release demo is available for download right now on itch.io and right here on IndieDB!

The new demo brings a bunch of changes that we've been keen to show off for a while now. In addition to a host of bug fixes and optimisation tweaks that should see the game running a lot better overall, we have a significant visual overhaul to the tilesets for the first two areas, the Bone Wastes and the Road of Kings.


Combat mechanics have also been updated so that knocking a character into another character will cause a stun effect. You can now turn your foes into stunning projectiles with a well-placed shove.


Or lash....


Or flying shield slam. The choice is yours!


We have also introduced a much-requested feature in the form of the Turn Order display. Now you can view the order in which characters will act in combat, and mouse over a character to see its exact position in the turn order.


To go with these new mechanics, however, we have also added additional challenges. Now each level offers a range of bonus objectives, which award additional Glory. You can even attempt a Perfect Run, clearing all bonus objectives in a single playthrough, for the very best rewards.


Now that our final demo for the leadup to Early Access is complete, our focus will be on putting the finishing touches on the Early Access build launching on the 16th of February.
