In Boarding Action you use the ship and its systems accomplish your mission. Be it destroying the ship, disabling (some part) of it, stealing from it, or just plain taking it over. Don't get me wrong, it's still an FPS, you have a gun ;) Though I want players to do more than solve all the problems ( read: ship crew ) with guns. The player should be able to interact more with the ship and its systems and use them to accomplish his goals. With every mission type the use of objects and systems of the ship changes. Blowing up the reactor isn't the best idea if you want to take over the ship.

Description

A new build with a new, and more complete, scenario! It's set up a bit like a tutorial, quickly introducing the player to the way the game works. It contains most of the game's features I've built over the past few months.

Graphics are trashed on win version, like having a window screen on the
monitor

It should be fixed in the 4.1 update now available. Can you try now? And if it persists, I'd really appreciate it if you posted/linked a screenshot.

I've uploaded a new version with some small fixes. The UI graphics glitches were "solved" by downgrading one Unity version for these builds. I've also added mouse capturing. A bit late, but apparently I hadn't tested it with a two monitor setup yet >_<

"you should see a marker on your hud now" yes, yes i do, i don't see anything else though... Imgur.com it starts of in the top right and gets bigger until the screen becomes yellow and even further, causing the game to lag until it froze... i did see the marker though... so that's good... i guess... (in all seriousness though, i liked the small part i was able to play, though shift for up is a bit unintuitive for me (i'd personally prefer space) but that's just personal preference.)

Woah, well that's not supposed to happen. Obviously. Could you tell me what platform and resolution you're playing on? In fullscreen on windowed mode?

sure,

OS: windows 10
Resolution: native 1600x900 in fullscreen
graphics quality: fantastic

though i did alt-tab out of it a couple of times, i don't think that's what caused it but i'll try again with and without alt-tabbing.

EDIT: it still happens with or without alt-tabbing

EDIT 2: solved, appearently switching the graphics quality to good solves the issue. (though i kinda wonder why)

can't edit anymore so i'll reply: switching the graphics to anything other than fantastic resolves the issue

i take it this(https://imgur.com/ArBm1zy) is normal because this is the only mission? when the results screen pops up there's no way to get rid of it and time stops, only allowing me to turn, it does allow for some fun with the laser pistol though hehe, it's possible to walk around by tapping esc while moving though.

Thanks for your efforts to break the game. (Really, that makes for great bugtesting!) I'll try and break it the same way on my side, and see if I can fix it.

hehe, you're welcome, for some reason the growing yellow arrow bug happens on good graphics now too, so it's apparently something else. hmm... weird, i managed to play through it without it two times.

hehe, found 2 other bugs while trying to find out what causes the growing marker, if you slam the barrel against the door in the airlock, usually the barrel goes through and sometimes it even teleports you with it. also, a minor bug: activating an airlock from outside the airlock will still trigger the sound muffling effect. though my oxygen doesn't get depleted so maybe you should try linking the sound muffling to the oxygen depletion. (if possible, I haven't used unity in years)

Ha! I finally found out what did it. I forgot to clamp the scaling of the arrow. So when the time between frames is too high, the scaling can continue into the negative due to the end condition being skipped. That results in a mirrored image growing until the end of time, which is what you saw. Rewrote that code now, in a more robust way. Needless to say, my palm had a brief encounter with my face.

[Edit:] On to squashing the rest of the bugs. I will upload a fixed build when that's done.
