Description
The WBC1 Catapult replaces the WBC3 Catapult for Dwarves and Dark Dwarves.
A cranky unit for Dwarves and Dark Dwarves.
That is actually a Trebuchet. Maybe you could name it that.
Do Dark Dwarves really need a catapult though? They already have the most advanced siege.
The long arm right? A trebuchet is also a catapult, I think. The only diference is that a trebuchet is more vertically alligned. If this unit is a trebuchet, then it's of the Couillard variant (horizontal).
Anyway, let the others decide.
Catapults are torsion based, Trebuchets are counter-weight based. The difference is in the mechanism to gather force for the throw.
As an idea, maybe this could do less damage than the normal Catapult but have more range.
The stats for this are currently undecided - we usually leave balancing to Joe but he's having computer troubles at the moment. However, longer range is indeed something we have already agreed on. (Well, I suggested it and no one's said otherwise on the matter, so I take that as being confirmed :p )
It is also to replace the Catapult for the 2 Dwarven races only, so there won't be any overlap between this and the other.
As for the name, we'll probably leave that for Joe as well, but I'll look into "Trebuchet" as well - I've never heard of it before. If we can give this thing a completely unique name compared to anything else in the game, then we certainly will go for it!
Well, in real life that thing is a Trebuchet, that is why I recommended the name. Perhaps removing splash damage and making this thing more like a building sniper would be cool, so it does not overlap with the Flame Cannon.
More models are always welcome anyway.
Yeah, that's definitely a trebuchet now that I take a better look at it. Not an awesome late 15th century one, but still pretty cool.
