A Shop ran by a Minotaur? A shame my hero's an Orc, otherwise I may have gotten a discount!
Shops now have shopkeepers! No more taking items from them and leaving your resources on the floor. :p
The shopkeeper for each shop will be randomized at the start of the scenario. How they greet you depends on your hero's race, his perks and alliance in Etheria lore. If you are very friendly with them, they might even reduce the prices of the items! But on the flip side, they may charge you a little more if they despise you!
In addition to that, your hero's charisma and merchant skill also affects item prices.
Oh and as mentioned a few weeks back, the items that can be equipped now cost crowns. But the potions still require resources.
The Charisma and Merchant skill discount was already in the game, wasn't it? And if you attacked any store, prices would skyrocket too.
On a side note, that ring is OP as all hell, and its not even that expensive. :)
And is that a new hero model?
Charisma and Merchant didn't affect prices but damaging the shop did and still does.
As for the cost of the ring, its value if pretty high, but in this particular case (Orcs being friendly with Minotaurs), the cost is equal to its value + hero's merchant (which is a negative value here). This would mean the crappier items would be around 40-60 crowns.
If this hero was, say a human, the price would be higher due to being "neutral" with Minotaurs. If this hero was a Wood Elf, then the price would be much higher! (Minotaurs and Wood Elves hate each other, right?)
So really I got a bargain here! (It's also the first time I've seen an artifact in a shop!)
But of course, it comes down to actually having the crowns to purchase the items.
As for the avatar... maybe?
It looks like an Orc from Warcraft 2, which is awsome.
Also maybe it should be written near shops names which race creature is shopkeeper because some races have some identical pictures (for egzample knight and dwarf).
Each shop has a name based on the race. The combination of the shop's name and the portrait should be enough identification for the race. :)
Well if all shop names are based on the race, then I hope that shopkeepers of the same race will be creative enough to name their respective shops differently from each other. :)
