That was a fast reply! I didn't even get my in-depth descriptive comment in!
One of the uses of crowns during a scenario - you can use them to bribe the host of the quest to stick around longer, giving you more time to complete the quest.
However, not everyone can be bribed - only the shady, the greedy, or those that generally don't think the money is right to be in your possession and would happily take it off your hands. :p
