The game can be downloaded here > Sourceforge.net and to play on multi-player servers the same version number should be used (latest available version)

The game and its creation is completely community driven and an active and welcoming forum can be found here > Manicdigger.sourceforge.net

Anyone is welcome to download and play, and anyone with sufficient knowledge and capability is welcome to offer input on how to go about improving the game. The source code is freely available to those that can dabble in such things, and I'm sure the creator of Manic Digger would welcome pro-active input.

Hey there!

It's been a long time since the last life sign on here, so I won't make you wait any longer by writing a huge essay.

Today we proudly present version 2015-02-17.
A lot has changed since the last version so here's a quick overview of the biggest changes.

New block types

As of popular request we have added some more blocks to the game.
This includes new types of wood as well as some completely new blocks like Sandstone or Red Sand.
For now these new blocks are only available in creative mode.

In one of the next releases the world generator will also get an update so the new blocks can be found naturally.

Entities

We introduced a new, much more flexible system for players and other entities.
This system enables the use of signs (which we had to disable in this version due to stability issues) as well as easy extension of all existing mobs.
This is a big step closer to wildlife and NPCs in the game.

A HTML5 game client

Yes, that's right.
We've created a fully compatible HTML5 version of the game. You can join any regular server directly from within your browser. No need to install anything. No plugins, just JavaScript.
Please note that this might still have some issues that we didn't find. If you come across some nasty bugs, help us squash them by reporting them on GitHub.

You can find that new game client here: Manicdigger.github.io

Even more stuff

You can have a look at the full changelog here: Github.com

Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, the game is mainly crative right now. Crafting is possible, it's just a bit different. There's also a War Mod that changes the game into an FPS.
Mobs and other survival features are currently WIP.

I love how Poor Infinity Miner gets no credit lol xD if u asked mine craft fan boys what is Infinity Miner they prob wouldn't know

Mine craft is a rip-off from Infinity Miner, Every game like Manic Digger, Dwarf Fortress , Mine Craft is a credit to the original game which was Infinity Miner, in the end Manic Digger will win because for 1 its free, 2 work is actually done on the game, 3 its open source and anyone can change it. that's why i have fallen in love with Manic Digger At least they understand that u shouldn't make people pay for a game that wasn't your idea... *Cough Cough Mine craft....*

It is unfornate that infiniminer gets little credit for kicking off these styles of games.
But to say that Minecraft as it is now is a clone of infiniminer isnt fair. Sure notch started off by cloning it but now it has changed quite alot since then.
As for your point about work not being done on Minecraft, well the updates will say other wise.

"At least they understand that u shouldn't make people pay for a game that wasn't your idea... *Cough Cough Mine craft....*"
Minecraft is Nothcs idea, its eloved from what may have started off as a clone in to something that is differnt. its like people say blocks and think its all the same, (same goes to those who think of everthing as a minecraft clone). Its like saying any shooter is a clone of another.

Bleh, rambles in short I bought minecraft and I dont regret it so to each their own.

i agree with your post and the guy below you. but the guy at the top did say an "idea" so basically hes saying minecraft got their idea from infiniminer. its already been mentioned that this project will be very similar to mincraft. but it will have it's differences as well.

minecraft actually is drastically different to infiniminer. It only really took the block theme. and infiniminer likely got that from building blocks, or lego.

Too imperfect. Maybe with time it will get better, but for now that's all I can give it.
