Dig, fight, explore, build! Nothing is impossible in this action-packed adventure game. The world is your canvas and the ground itself is your paint. Grab your tools and go! You can do many things in Terraria: make weapons and fight off a variety of enemies in numerous biomes, dig deep underground to find accessories, money, and other useful things, gather wood, stone, ores, and other resources to create everything you need to make the world your own and defend it. Build a house, a fort, even a castle, and people will move in to live there and perhaps even sell you different wares to assist you on your journey. But beware, there are even more challenges awaiting you... Are you up to the task?

0 comments by mrtaterz on Jun 22nd, 2011

An enormous Terraria update has arrived, adding dozens of new enemies and items to the game. Corrupt Bunnies and Corrupt Goldfish join the hordes of creatures inhabiting Terraria's randomly generated 2D worlds, and new rare enemies like "Dr. Bones" and "The Groom" will stand between you and a series of new 'Vanity Items'. These will let you change your appearance without negating the stat bonuses of the armour you're wearing. Costume pieces include a top hat, a ninja outfit, a tuxedo and more. The new Clothier NPC will move in once "conditions are met" to sell some of the new items, including a very familiar plumber's outfit.

On top of all that, The Eater of Worlds is now tougher than ever. Nyooo! Get the full patch notes at the Terraria Website.

i like both. they're both similar but they both have things about them that are fantastic. i would suggest at least trying both. personally i lean a little more towards minecraft. whoever said modding is too hard doesn't know what they're talking about, google and the minecraft forums do wonders (search for MCPatcher ;) ).

Own this game and love it, V1.1 I have not tried yet but im looking forward to it when I get back into it. Keep up the good work on it.

Also to answer ur Q, id say get Minecraft if you want free-roaming,3d environments with lite survivor or get Terraria if you like 2d , Castlevania 2d free roaming with custom made maps, and custom made adventure maps by the community.

In terms of which has more mods, I believe both have a good host of mods. I own both Minecraft and terraria (got Minecraft in a giveaway 2 days ago) so I cannot say much other then that.

I'd suggest both. Although I've only played Minecraft so far, everything I've seen or heard about Terraria is excellent and I'm looking forward to purchasing it once I build a proper rig. If you want a staight-up suggestion though, I'd recommend Terraria if you want a more guided, polished experience, and I'd recommend Minecraft if you want a more free-form sandbox type of game. Either way, they both provide excellent and utterly unique gaming experiences and are well worth your time and money.

modding is simple in mincraft you just need brains to read the instalation to them. muiltiplayer is even better simple to connect but it is better if you know a prviate server for few people, In terraria there is bareley any mods but the muiltiplayer is ok but hard to connect to.
Both good games Both have flaws.

Sure hope it wins IOTY!
