Data Hacker: Corruption

News

Studio 69 is now 'New Reality Games' - a name and image with a lot more professional weight, I'm sure you will agree.

Data Hacker: Corruption, Initiation's direct sequel, is currently in Beta testing phase. If you would like to become part of the testing team, please get in touch at queries.studio69@gmail.com and you will be credited in the game for your contribution.

Data Hacker: Corruption is due to be released on 1st February, and is currently available for pre-order through our very own website at www.newrealitygames.co.uk

Corruption allows you to continue your save file from Initiation, including your chosen team, inventory and decision data. It also features two completely different sides to the story, depending on the decisions you have made. Couple these features with over 1,000 craftable items and a graphical overhaul, and you have yourself a massive step up for the Data Hacker series.

And it's onwards and upwards from here, my friends!

"buy them based on whether you enjoy them or not."

^the opposite of brilliant.

by your logic i should buy games to play through them to decide if i like them or not, by the same logic i should send $ to terrorist groups and racists so i can read their literature to see if i like IT or not.

you cant handle modern games, or you would have SO much to do you wouldnt have time for these "time wasters" but you dont have to be a pretentious ignoramus about it and thats coming from someone who plays TONS of games from roguelikes to shooters and from strategy to sports infact the only games i wont bother playing (aside from war based fps's) are hog and dine-n-dash games. the simple fact that they dont have to do the engine=they didnt work too hard. its like giving credit to the framer for painting the picture.

Wouldn't that include many games made with the unreal engine for example?

"when im done maybe ill go back to "playing" with your momma."
Troll much.. or is that just a bonus? :)

Or CryEngine, or IDTech, or Unity. Don't waste your time mate, fail troll is fail. He had the chance to play the demo, but he'd rather sit here and sling insults at people. He'll get bored and go away eventually.

Is there any way to change the resolution? (or at least double the windowed size)
Fullscreen is flickering badly with or without that checkbox checked and windowed 640x480 is barely filling 1/6th of my screen.

Afraid not, the engine itself supports up to 640x480 resolution at its maximum point. The only thing I can suggest is lowering the resolution of the desktop itself, or even set up a temporary separate user account on your computer with a lower resolution.

Out of my control, sorry!

Got rid of most of the flickering with a tool called D3DOverider (force v-sync and triple buffering)
Oddly enough it still shows plenty of screen tearing. (also tried turning on/off just about every setting my gfx cards have with limited results)
Searched the net a bit for rpg maker games+this problem. (most likely it's a ATI/AMD only issue)
I'm pretty sure lowering my hardware acceleration would do the trick.. if it wasn't for the fact that my ati 7970 doesn't have this option available to me.(I've seen the option in the past on my previous pc builds so I know it should work for many people out there)
In case someone has similar issues.. try reading this topic Overcloud9.com
Lucky for me the windowed screen is still easily readable.. so I'll just use that :)

As for separate account or lowering resolution.. thought about that, but I tend to multi task quite a bit.

As for the game itself.
It kinda has that Final Fantasy combat feel to it plus as a former MMO gamer I find it quite entertaining how the game is playing out so far.. having the choice to hack mobs or just grind them for exp and items is totally addictive :P
Highly recommended to any old school JRPG gamer.. (anyone with a history in MMO gaming probably gets even more enjoyment out of it)

Thank you for your information, this might well come in handy for other players.

Also thank you for the kind comments about the game! I'm glad my hard work is appreciated. If you head over to the company web page, there is a guide you can download with lots of plot and design insights. Beware the spoilers though!

I'm afraid not, the engine itself only supports up to 640x480. The best thing I can recommend is changing the resolution of your desktop to compensate.

If this is a type of game that you play often, maybe even set up a separate user account on your PC with a lower resolution, to save it getting in your way?
