In the tooltips, help menu and the item information itself for stairs it will explain how to keep digging down...you simply build stairs and place them in the floor. When you are underground you place more stairs and you'll go down further.
We are working on balancing and a few bugs at the moment before we get to the other additional stuff we'll be adding. Bosses, more mobs and random events and so on. Trying to get it to run perfectly across everyones different pc setups just takes a bit of time.
The engine this game is written in actually is able to port over to mac, there will of course need to be changes so the game will have to make some headway on the Windows side before we see a Mac version.
Sorry for the delay in comments lately, some exciting stuff coming up...some may have already discovered that we now have Lantern Forge available for sale on our website, A few other distributors have picked us up as well...we'll give a much better update really soon we promise! but feel free to check out www.lanternforge.com or Indiegamestand.com for more information!
Happy to report that reviews of the demo have gone excellent. we have received wonderful feedback and are working hard to tweak and perfect what is already turning out to be a great start for Lantern Forge.
Thank you so much for your informative reply. Some of the stuff we've already started to look into and the rest we'll be looking into right away. We have been working on a way to give new players a good tutorial system without taking away from the discovery and figuring out things on their own.
Information like this truly helps us move the game forward so thank you again for responding with so much information to help us :)
glad you had fun with the game!
Wow. Thanks :) loved your video and mostly...really loved that you had fun. The hitboxes and other issues you mentioned are on our plate to get tightened for sure.
We are also working on a better intro system to teach the player some of the basics. Try hitting spacebar. It puts you into a battle mode so that the world is more like Diablo. You only interact with enemies and won't click on walls and such.
We would love to send you a more polished full build soon for you to review :)
Sorry for the delay in updates but we have been hitting it hard and are happy to let you know we are moving into Beta now! just wrapping up art, all features planned for initial release are in and now it's just testing, balance and polish.
we will let you know soon when and where you can get your hands on the beta!
icons...icons...icons. I guess that's what we get for throwing in hundreds and hundreds of items, armors, weapons, decor, food and skills. Ironically I need to get all this done...so that I can keep working on making more new stuff :p *pours coffee* lets DO THIS!!!!
We will also have other portals that have already talked to us about release to, we are just about to slide into beta stage as well so the game is trucking along really well. We will have it available for you very soon! thanks for the support! and obviously we hope you have a ton of fun with it...
nice screenshots...the lighting is really good.
Please help us out with an upvote on Greenlight for Lantern Forge!
FYI!
I go and upvote any one I see posting they got onto greenlight here...we all love games, we all deserve to be able to offer the world what we work so hard to build. Many of us work 7 days a week on these projects starving and hoping.
So good luck! :)
Sent you an upvote in greenlight :) Hopefully we can all see our games come to light there. Good luck!
very nice, the beams of light and such really give atmosphere.
ya that is looking much better, you'll notice on the car the intakes and airflow designs along the sides. Gives a nice visual appeal, something similar on the wings would give the model a nice boost. you could probably even use texture instead of geometry depending on how large the model will be on the screen.
Hey that looks good. After working on a space game already I know how hard it is to get a nebula to look good :p But whole thing sounds really good though!
Sent you an upvote on Greenlight :) *cough* Lantern Forge happens to be on there too... *cough* But honestly it looks good. Hope you guys make it on Kickstarter!
If it is going to be a side view for the most part then the wings themselves will need more decal/geometry.
Could also add a bit more flare like stabilizers on the back behind the cockpit, input valves on the front for airflow. Instead of just squaring off the wings with smoothing groups, maybe break the wing into a few pieces and layer them together. So you see creases between each segment.
Not sure if the ship is alien or human, Human stuff tends to be more flat and segmented. So any part the stretches out of the ship and is smooth will be wrong cause we always have our stuff in panels. If the ship is more alien, then maybe the roundness of the wings would help with that.
Just a few ideas :)
We have a bunch of merchants walking around now selling lots of stuff. Their inventory will rotate so there is always something new to check out.
We also now have cages you can craft so that you can tame and capture animals out in the wild and bring them back home. You won't have to lead a cow or a dragon from 10 miles away. Tame them, put them in a cage then bring them out for pit battles against other trainers and...oh wait, that last part is a different game...
We are currently getting the wandering merchant into the game and fine tuning the skills. All 5 tiers of armor and weapons are now done and in the game. Things are coming together nicely and our play testers have enjoyed themselves. :)
Thanx! we are working super hard to try and get more traffic to greenlight to upvote us while also making the game as solid as possible to start alpha.
You won't have to sit and wait to harvest, get a good tool and you can harvest a plants loot in a second. We hate time filler stuff too. You can even use an anvil in your inventory instead of having to put it on the ground, use it, then pick it back up again :p We gots stuff to kill! can't be waiting around to make a sword!
