Oh yeah - the popup help now displays 2 resource / mana costs for abilities. The one in brackets is the combined cost needed to use the ability for all selected units, while the other is a single use of the ability.

Finally, clicking the buttons to use the abilities have differing effects depending on whether you used the left mouse button or the right.

Left click has just a single selected unit cast the ability - with the game skipping units already affected by the ability even if it has a radius effect.

Right click has everyone cast it - skipping only units who's ability / spell would not benefit anyone (as in, the caster and all friendly units around him are already affected by the ability / spell).

There's also a "follow up" image to go with this one. But you'll need to wait until next month to see that and read what it has to add to this. :)

Not bad. Now to get my Liches to misuse all their Mana, in reanimating 2 corpses instead of 10 after every battle.

Description

With so many new unit abilities and spells coming in 0.9, we've had to make some changes to the auto-cast system. And by that I mean we've removed the auto-cast attitudes, such as Magic Defender. So LEARN TO MICRO, NOOBS!

Nah, we've actually made it so the auto-casting of abilities is tied to the unit's own abilities rather than their attitude. This allows the player to specify exactly which of the unit's abilities they want to be auto-cast. And since it's no longer a case of "all are auto-cast or none at all", we've made it so pretty much every single spell and ability in the game supports auto-casting, including summons and even spells and buildings. So if you keep forgetting to use Rites of Dawn when playing Knights, you can set the Cathedral to do it for you. If you want your Cultists to morph into Liches when you have enough resources, you can set that to auto-cast as well.

When auto-casting is enabled for an ability, you'll see the old Magic Defender icon appear over the button. If you have multiple units selected and they have different auto-cast preferences, then it'll display a question mark icon instead.

You toggle auto-casting for abilities by clicking it's button with the middle mouse button. Clicking this for a group via the ability bar will toggle this for all selected units that have that ability.
