StarLust is a space-based RTS that features ships you build yourself! Build and customize your own fleet and fight in randomly generated solar systems.
So our last minor update had some major bugs in it and we wanted to push a new one out quickly. We made sure to test this update much more as well! The bugs in the last version are fixed and the game is running very stable! Follow the instructions on our download links for updating (or just delete the old folder and download the new one).
Bug Fixes and New Content
Here's a quick rundown of the major bug fixes:
We also added in some cool new features/content. The content additions were pretty small, mostly just changing the look of the anti-missile platforms to differentiate them from the other starbase expansions. The big feature we added is analytics for our game. Right now this is mostly for us to gather information on how the game is played but down the road we'll be able to show cool events like how many total ships have been destroyed in our game, how many planets have been colonized, what types of ships/weapons do players use, etc. This will be very beneficial in balancing the game and a cool way for players to see how we're all playing the game!
The Plans for the Future!
We'd like this to be the last small update for a while. I know its a pain to keep manually downloading and updating the game. We want it to be really worth your time and while we work on a better system for getting updates out we are going to slow down the updates and work on a major update.
This means that the next major update should be version 0.2.0a! We have some big plans for it and hopefully it won't take us too long to implement most of them but we'll see! Here are some of our goals:

Just tried out the game against myself (opened it up twice on the same comp) Seems like it has a huge amount of potential and already has a good foundation. A few things i would like to see:
Maybe at some point some fighter squadrons.
A larger size difference between ships.
The ability to turn of the spinning universe. (A feature i bloody love, brilliant thinking)
Flagship or ships. Either you can just build one or each planet can have there own flagship.
(Edit) And some unit collision will be nice. But i see you guys are working on that
I would love to have a match with someone at some point too :D This is a great looking game that i will definitely be watching.
I'm glad you found an ingenious way to play the game solo! You have a lot of good ideas and a lot of these things we have discussed but aren't sure about or haven't implemented yet.
We originally were going to have fighter craft and may down the road, it all depends on how well we can get unit movement and AI to work!
As for turning off the planet orbits, thanks for reminding me! We had talked about that option but never implemented it and I think we forgot about that idea. We'll probably put that in as an option down the road!
And if you're looking to play, we host a Game with the Devs event every Saturday at 3pm Eastern time! Or we can always set up another time for a match, we're always up for playing our game :)

Is there anyway to test your ships, like targets to test on, as it will help designing effective ships easier.
Not yet, but its something we're looking at!
