Noverat is a story-driven RPG with the mission to offer a compelling story intermingled with action oriented gameplay.
Noverat is still in development, but you can check out the game we've released in February 2014 - KEL Reaper of Entropy.
Noverat is based on a whole new fantasy world, with the action taking place in Kalandria, a land once under the care of the Shapers, divinities wielding Mist magic. During the past few years, caught between the ruthless Merchants Guild and the secretive Engineers Guild, many inhabitants of Kalandria have left the safety of the four Cities to turn to banditry.
Among the turmoil a new faction has now risen, the Forgotten, those still faithful to the Shapers, and many feel there is something ominous about them.
In Noverat, you play as Jay’Dan, a blacksmith who inadvertently embarks on a journey across Kalandria, exploring ancient places and facing numerous dangers, old and new.
Since you are after all a blacksmith and you'll have the opportunity to discover some of the lost technology of the Shapers, there will be quite a bit of forging to do. Apart from custom weapons, you'll also be able to create Mech'ans, little constructs of iron and magic that help you at the forge or during your travels, protecting you from traps and opening locked chests.
Besides combo based combat and complex forging, you get to encounter many interesting characters. They each have their own tale weaving into the main storyline and present you with choices lacking black-and-white morality. These choices, the way in which you handle events and quests, and your usage of skills and weapons, all determine your character’s development.

One of the characters you will encounter in Noverat is Dakkal, which some of you may remember from the "Last Caravan" short story.
Not much is known about Dakkal except that he has traveled a great deal in his time. In his youth he used to venture through the most remote areas of Kalandria as a treasure seeker, some say, looking for artifacts and other remnants from the time of the Shapers. He has even braved the Petrified Waste, with its traps that turn any living thing into stone and the Gheonoi, always searching for "shinnies" and fierce to protect their lairs. Whether he actually found anything of great value during those times remains unknown and he's quick to chase away anyone who asks him about it.
When his adventuring days were over, Dakkal started running errands for the Engineers Guild, leading caravans and trading for the Guild. Soon after that he was able to purchase a merchant's license in his own name, but despite any wealth he might have accumulated over the years, he has never considered settling down. Thus it is that now, despite his old age, he still roams Kalandria at the head of caravans, living the simple life of a traveler.
John, the Art Director at Tavern Games, talks about the changes we've made to the movement system for Noverat.
Ana talks about the Noverat book she is writing and the main aspects of the Noverat universe presented there.

Looks sweet! Im watching you! (waving finger around)
Seems interesting, tracking. Found you via René Aigner posting concept images on Facebook btw, if the rest of the game is as good as his art, then I'm sure you're onto something great ;)
Thank you Feneur!
Yes, René is a very talented artist and we sure are trying to keep the level of detail consistently across concept art and actual in game graphics.
I approve of this project. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much, Radu!
