Earths is a turn-based strategy game, where your goal as a director of international agency is to explore and conquer earths from parallel dimensions.

Alternative Earths are built within two systems, with history where human civilization was never created and alternative history of humanity between 1500 BC - 2035AC. Most of actions of a player are made with a usage of agents. They are randomly generated , and divided into categories: researchers, military leaders, diplomats, spies.

  • Most of actions of a player are made with a usage of agents - it simplifies the game, and cut's the need of micromanagement. Available agents are randomly generated , and divided into categories: researchers, military leaders, diplomats, spies.
  • Advancement of the ability to move between worlds. At the start of game, because of primitive technology you are able to transfer your units only between anchor points on the surface of the earth . Also, as the catapults are expensive (they need a lot of rare earths), there won't be a possibility to mass them. Of course, as the game progresses new options arise.
  • AI. Current AI system is developed right know, because it is a part of simulation for XX and XXI century. There are two types of actors of AI - rulers and society that they rule. All of the actions that AI can made are divided into connections between rulers - society, connections within governing body itself, and connections between foreign policies.

4i system. It's a term for a game system in Earths that little differs from other strategy games:

  • Investigate. Similar to explore in 4x games. First goal of a player is to check situation on a planet - is there a human civilization? If it is, who is a biggest player on a international arena, checking for unknown technology, and so on.
  • Infiltrate. The AI system is created as a base for quite vast infiltration game. in the start and middle game - you aren't able to send military force which will conquer other societies - but you can infiltrate it's administration and ultimately place your agent as a ruler of it. In this case the most valuable would be worlds where one or two empires controls whole worlds
  • Instigate. Your military force is mainly used to meddle with internal affairs. For example; helping guerrillas can result with a decay of some polity, allowing you to access a resource non accessible before.
  • Indoctrinate. Use your agents to change a view of the societies, ultimately leading to giving up their freedom for your protection and technology.

Code created for alternative planets was quite unneficient - i'm currently in process of rebuilding it - i can assure you that it will allow to generate them almost instantly without as high usage of memory as before.

Apart of technical details, i'm trying to revamp graphical side of the game - especially borders of hex polities, they will be much better in the future.(I hope:))
