Code populates Quake III maps with goodies when loaded under Darkplaces - Version 1.06 quake-c with q3items.qc added.
Version 1.06 quake-c with q3items.qc added. Darkplaces can load Quake III maps but it needs help with the entities. This mod and source code provide Quake entity support. Adding this support to any Quake mod should be trivial - just copy q3items.qc to your source directory and add it to the end of progs.src, then compile. Enjoy.
Note - what this does: Darkplaces (a Quake one game Engine) can load Quake III maps. (It DOES NOT run Quake III the game - there is a large difference!) This mod (q3ent/progs.dat) and source provide full entity support for Quake III maps under Darkplaces.
Requirements: Quake (one) - Indiedb.com, Darkplaces - Icculus.org, Quake III maps - Map-factory.org, Moddb.com.
Install: unzip qc_q3ent.zip in your quake root folder. Install darkplaces as directed. Place Quake III map (PK3 files) in quake/id1
Launch: "darkplaces -game q3ent".
Warning: Some Quake III maps have issues. Try deathmatch mode.
Painkeep v2.x includes this code tweaked special for the painkeep mod.
