In this video, I walk you through the latest round of revisions to the ship editor. I finally took some time to give it some much needed love. It is very functional now, and easy to use. I plan on adding a few more tweaks here and there, but I am much happier with how it is working atm.
I went through all of the ships and cleaned everything up. I made a few changes to some of the ship part models, so I needed to adjust those models on each ship in which they were used. I also generated new image icons for every existing ship. They are much cleaner now and no longer have those weird blue halos around the engines.
I wanted to make this video to better explain how it all works, mainly for those interested in making ships for the game once it is released.
The ship editor gives you access to all the basics. Loading and saving ship designs. Moving and rotating parts and pieces. You can add additional module slots, and even adjust the pilot camera. If you are hardcore, you can even edit the raw file from inside the editor. That way you don't have to fuss with notepad if you don't want to.
