Yeah, been looking around and following Manux's instructions here: Theindiestone.com -- allows me to play, although my main toolbar still appears to be missing. May be worth a shot for others in the same situation.

Can't get paste the main menu, no menu items show up -- I just get the static image and the occasional lightning sound and visual effect.

Running Arch Linux x86_64 (kernel 3.9.4.1) with nvidia 319.23 and JRE 7.21.

Shell output here: Pastebin.com (last line is me closing the window)

It's written in Java, so should work. The bundled .sh didn't work for me, but running

java -jar pirateHell.jar

from the working directory loaded it fine.

Tried the demo and it looks pretty good, main gripe is the controls are too immediate, doesn't feel like I'm controlling a boat.

Is this still in development, or is what we see the final product?

This, just seen it on Steam and would love to activate it there as well :)

Oh sorry, it wasn't an issue :P I like to compile from source on most things, just the 32 bit Ogre has *loads* of dependencies that make building it a bit more tedious.

The game is awesome though :D

Yeah, I know -- but lib32-ogre on Arch Linux is a pain ;)

A x86_64 Linux build would be awesome ;)

No problem and thanks for the replies :)

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't having issues with sound as well ;)

Hey, thanks for the reply -- no I hadn't done that and after sorting our the account sync it's let me logged in and play; so all good there.

However, the buttons are still broken, just so you know :) I did also have to click the login button several times to get it to do anything.

Anyway, thanks for clearing up what you need to do and so far looks good -- is sound in the game yet, or is it just music at the moment?

Hey,

Just brought the game and it boots up no problem -- however, I can't create an account as the button doesn't do anything. Same thing for Help and Support.

Running the Linux version on Arch x86_64 with kernel 3.7.4 -- Intel i7 + nVidia GTX560.

I also don't get any terminal output when I click them, just Mono setting paths:

exodus-wars-fractured-empire$ ./FracturedEmpire
Set current directory to /opt/desura/common/exodus-wars-fractured-empire
Found path: /opt/desura/common/ exodus-wars-fractured-empire/FracturedEmpire
Mono path[0] = '/opt/desura/common/ exodus-wars-fractured-empire /FracturedEmpire_Data/Managed'
Mono path[1] = '/opt/desura/common/ exodus-wars-fractured-empire /FracturedEmpire_Data/Mono'
exodus-wars-fractured-empire$

I pressed both buttons multiple times.

Do you keep logs somewhere -- I got a ton of crap in my home folder and I can't see it in the usual places on a cursory glance.

Any help would be great!

This game looks fantastic and thanks for the Linux release :)

It's just a shame I'm getting an "Aborted (core dumped)" every time I stop or enter a town (can't get past Pittsburgh) though I'm not sure where the core dump actually is -- I can't find a local folder and it's not in with the binaries?

Tried running it with multilibs and x86_64 native and still nothing :( Also, Mono appears to pick everything up okay.

Running Kernel 3.6.10, Arch Linux x86_64.

Got the game working thanks to Laurent :)

So far so good, game looks great and plays really nice on Linux (Arch x86_64) -- the challenge modes are insane!

However, only the Mac Beta is showing up to download.

This looks really nice and multi platform is awesome -- any ideas on if / when the BETA will be out on Linux? (or Windows; I'm sure I can get it to work with Wine).

Why does the "Desura Deals" email say this supports Linux? I almost believed it when I saw the email, but obviously it's wrong.

I think you'll find that the company behind this game are the same as the one behind the Unigine (funnily enough, called Unigine Corp.).

While Desura is great for Linux users (like myself) the lack of keys will not ever stop me buying a HiB purely on the basis of they are helping bring games to Linux.

People are being shortsighted if they don't buy just because there are no keys. This is bigger than just Desura, and as many people need to buy these bundles for Linux as possible to help bring about intrest in Linux as a viable platform for gaming.
