After a couple of months of hard work, I finally released the full version of The Pixel Pirate. The Pixel Pirate is a 2D RTS lite game featuring retro graphics and sounds.

The final version of The Pixel Pirate was released and ready to be played on Newgrounds.

The Pixel Pirate is a 2D RTS made with a retro feeling in mind.

THE PIXEL PIRATE FEATURES:

  • over 20 levels
  • an online scoreboard (powered by mochi)
  • randomly generated levels
  • special upgrades

The game also has a $1 purchasable chapter.

The game itself was actually pretty fun but the controls were horrible, mainly because it's unintuitive for an RTS. It's not entirely your fault because it's made in flash.

However, some things that really bugged me were that I'd tell my ships to move when I wanted to deselect them. I couldn't right click to tell my ships to perform actions and that's pretty standard in an RTS.

The gameplay was very slow, which I didn't like. Everything moved at such a snails pace.
