Winterfall is a sandbox RPG influenced, gameplay-wise, by experiences as diverse as Mount and Blade, Mass Effect, DayZ, The Sims, the Elder Scrolls games and, of course, the latter Ultima games (7, 8 and Online), set in a fictional late antiquity/early dark ages setting. Contrary to most RPGs where the player is in control of a single hero character from beginning to end, the focus of Winterfall is on a House, or Household, which is grown and developed through deeds performed by the player's successive characters.

The time has come for Winterfall to start going public after 2 years of hard work putting together the core systems of the game.

Hello all,

It is with great pleasure that we are beginning to go public to showcase our work on Winterfall. Development of Winterfall has been going on for 2 years, starting on the 15 december of 2012. We entered a design phase, followed closely by an iteration phase where we started experimenting with gameplay and mechanics. This went on for the entire year until we finally zeroed in on what we wanted and early in 2014, proper development actually began.

The focus from the beginning has been to not go public with ideas but make sure we had a solid product behind us and exact knowledge of where we were going. While there is still much to do, the time has now come to tell and show you more about the game, which we shall do from now on.
