Warlords rejoice! Version 0.8.9 of The Protectors is finally here. This does NOT include patch versions 0.8.9a and 0.8.9b. To fully patch up and play The Protectors, it's highly recommended that you download and install 0.8.9 to a new folder (it's stand-alone), and then install patches 0.8.9a and then 0.8.9b. The included version of the WBC3 campaign is prone to crashes. If you would like to play it, download the Fifth Horseman campaign from the Addons section, following all installation instructions. This is pretty much the best RTS ever. Thank you for creating something so amazing and unique.
Congrats on new version release. I think I found a gamebreaking bug though. Playing as orc has all buildings save for towers at only 1hp.
We've actually seen this before but it's a very rare bug. I think we saw this like only 4 times throughout the whole development process of 0.8.9. We have an idea of what's causing it but can't be 100% sure at this time.
Will there be a translation into Russian? If not, could you tell me how to do it, I'm ready to do it.
Check every txt file. It perhaphs would crash the game due to the alphabet.
Sadly it's very likely that the game would crash since it isn't capable of supporting non-english characters (it can't even support diacritics yet). Proper support for multiple languages is planned and is something we want to do. As Pat would say, the more demand there is for a feature, the faster it will be implemented.

First of all: kudos to the modding team, this is by far the most playable and enjoyable version to date.
That said I have a couple remarks to make.
The Agent faction ability (installs an agent in an enemy non-wall building with a 25% chance) either doesn't seem to work at all, or I just don't see what's actually happening. What is supposed to happen when you use this faction skill? Any answer is appreciated!:)
Also I did some experimentation with the intriguing Lichelord revival perk (your hero gets revived 5 minutes after being slain). The most significant thing I found out is that you can't exploit Ironman mode with this perk. Your hero will be revived during the battle, is gone after the battle, however. Kudos for not making this perk too exploitable.
Agents make enemies spend more for their productions and they also take some of the income if the structure is a mine.
Hi, i have a problem with the game, it crashes when start any scenario, so that i cant play this version.

Probably a corrupt download. I'd recommend redownloading and reinstalling.
It would be appreciated if we could have a torrent of this 3 GB large file. I'm getting the "[xcGraphicsSystem::xcgsLoadBitmap] Error on loading <1>", and while Patrick_Winekiller recomends the "redownloading and reinstalling" at the forum, another probably corrupt download of 3 GB large file is a bit off for my patience.

Hi, I got a PROBLEM.
I installed 0.8.9 downloaded from here, then 0.8.9a, then 0.8.9b.
when I open the game it starts windowed, so I entered the settings but the game didn't respond to my clicks, if I press on the resolutions tab at the top it won't respond, but when pressed the thumbdown to go back to the manu, for a nanosecond I saw the tabs change but hen I'm back at the main manu.
PLZ Help, I wish I could play the game again.
(running on Win10, with nice computer Y700, tried changing a lot of compabilty settings, but nothing worked).
downloaded it and opened it after install, had to close the game and tried to reopen the install to open the game but i cannot find how to open it without uninstalling it and then reinstalling it, then select the setting at the end of the install to run the app. How do i get it to my homepage? i have the original Warlords Battlecry III on my desktop and its easily accessible. I did the full install, so where is the icon in my settings/desktop?

There are no summon timers in TPC.
