SONAR second demo
Oct 5, 2011 Demo 6 commentsThe second demo of SONAR, containing 2 Levels and nearly every single gameplay element.
"SONAR" is an exploring-/horror-game with a minimum of graphics and a focus on sound-design instead. Though Catherine can't see anything, the player has to use the Sonar-O-Matic 3000, a futuristic sonar device with which she can scan her surroundings. Stuck in the dark, with no hope for rescue, Catherine has to encounter that she is not alone down here...
The game is entirely written in C# with XNA 3.0, using original graphics and music. Most of the soundeffects were found at www.freesound.org.

Quality game. I just wish the enemy's screams were a little quieter.
$1.99 - Just buy it. What a unique game. The graphics suck, but that's how I like my games sometimes (dwarf fortress). Great idea for a game - even better executed that I would have thought possible. Price is a steal. Thanks.
Sonar would make an amazing and very unique Android or iOS game, but it may have a bit to many limitations or too much competition to make a lasting impression on the PC scene.
looks pretty...
(buried)
this looks kinda stupid...
If you're gonna criticize, try to at least make a point.
Is there a way to get more oxygen, or do I have to hurry up and finish the game before I run out of it?
I am wondering that too, but given that the oxygen bar at the start of the game is quite low and that it took me half of it to finish the first level I think that there should be some way of replenishing the supply later in game.
Correction - in the demo you start out with a low supply of oxygen, in the full game the bar is full at the beginning, so scrap my previous comment.
Played the demo (the link is in the forum) and I am so buying this after my payday ;-). Part logic game, part survival horror - awesome combination.
