Isomer is an isometric realtime strategy game inspired by classic XCOM and other more recent sandbox style games. It's open ended, designed to be played in a variety of ways with world exploration, survival, crafting and strategy all blended together. Build up your forces by trading resources for reinforcements with passing resupply ships and mutate your troops into specialist units from scouts to warriors. Enemy forces attack periodically in an attempt to destroy your bases and facilities. How long can you survive? The worlds are procedurally generated, large and teeming with hostile forces, enemy bases, deep catacombs and life. On some worlds, extensive enemy facilities have sprung up and the inhabitants don't take too kindly to new arrivals attempting to poach resources from their backyard. Mined resources can be used to build structures, traps or fortifications as well as traded periodically.

It has been a busy few months of work (Isomer development only started back in roughly September time) but already we're close to getting our first alpha build...

It has been a busy few months of work (Isomer development only started back in roughly September time) but already we're close to getting our first alpha build. We're a one man team (plus part time graphics person) so I'm really pleased with the progress. All the core parts of Isomer are pretty much done now (hopefully I won't come to regret those words :P ), the emphasis after Christmas will be polishing, replacing all the dev placeholder images and adding lots of stuff to build, loot and encounter.


In case you missed it, we've got a first gameplay video up now which shows newly added things like building, mining, exploration and a couple of other bits. As we replace more and more of the dev placeholder graphics (primarily in units which all look pretty much the same at the moment) I hope to post more videos.
