I have to stress this but, you guys MUST VIEW THE README before installing the game. I don't want to hear people complaining about it crashing on startup with out saying they followed installation instruction. There is an executable that didn't get packed with the installer so you need to patch the file over after installing.
This alpha release features two maps this time. One is a remake of the San Francisco bay from the first alpha release, and the other map is of downtown L.A. Los Angeles will be a sandbox with a linear mission (Kind of like Crysis), which will offer many branching paths that all lead to your objective. Different paths can vary in difficulty and playstyle. Some paths will take you into a warzone against HK aeriels and tanks, as well as many other foes. Other paths can take you through sunken buildings where you fight patrolling swarms of HK minis
There are a few improvements done with the gameplay as well. First to mention is that the player has very little health, and will be mutilated if out in the open, so game will have a first person cover system that will let you duck behind a piece of rubble and quickly pop in and out to attack your enemies. Keep in mind that the cover system is still very buggy and is still at a very early prototype state.
There is also a hint button now in case you get lost. hitting the button will pop Holographic arrows in the map that suggest paths the player could go (not has to go, remember the map is a sandbox). Some suggested me to use way-point markers instead, but In a sandbox environment, it doesn't show the player the options toward the destination.
I'll tell you this now most of the endoskeletons you will find on the battlefield are not T800s but T700s. They are a dark, rusty brown color instead of chrome, and they fall down much easier. you Will fight a total of Three T800s in the demo and they are insanely harder than the 700 models. At first it will be a bit difficult spotting the difference between the two but soon you'll notice the chrome one is much tougher.
There will also be many HK minis in the demo. These guys are the cannon fodder Skynet's army. but they are fast and come in large numbers. You will also confront HK tanks. these guys will mostly be scripted but will play important roles in the larger set pieces
Well I hope you guys enjoy this demo and be sure to stay tuned for more releases in the future.

Woot! Looking forward to try this once I get back home.
Very cool!
What we need to play this mod?
It's not a mod you don't need another game to run it. but please follow the readme when installing.
I just need to install this right?

Cool thanks guys
For whatever reason, steam is hooking into the alpha even though I never told it to. Not sure what to think of that. Fluorescent ground in Act I makes the game impossible to play. Something seems to have gone horribly wrong here. Other than that, fantastic!
this is happening on some people's machines. It works fine for me, but I need to figure out the problem asap.
I saw something similar when I tried to force D3D10 with the previous alpha. My GPU is a 460, could be the Fermi drivers.
Was already afraid that this release wouldn't make it "in May" :)
Now downloading and in few minutes will try it out! Meh, I already know I will just LOVE it!
Quick question - is there a way to change mouse input settings, like invert Y axis?
Game gets added to Steam as Unreal Development Kit and every kill gives me funny awards obviously from Unreal Tournament games, like, after killing one flying drone gives "First Blood" impression (Off to a Good Start achievement), second drone gives already Serial Killer award for "Killing Spree" and after few more I get already "Don't taze me Bro" award for killing 4 enemies with Shock Rifle.
Pressing F1 gives a messy HUD where, as I can figure out are two teams showing up (there's no font or whatsoever - just squares) where I can see that I'm the RED team (being all alone in it) and robots are team BLUE (long list with ****** up font "names"). Wouldn't mind that HUD if I could afterwards hide it again ..
By pressing F (which is I guess a hit with a gun?) the left arm model looks kinda weird ..
It's hard to understand when and what screen resolution do I choose - there are no visual signs if I have 800x600 or 1680x1050 and so on.
For some reason I can't move around while crouching (at least on Act 3). Sometimes the movement makes me feel that I'm actually air-walking on some invisible objects and eventually I can get sky high and get out of Act 1 map ...
There are times when the controls goes nuts - I can't shoot (instead the character tries to run) and pretty much can't do anything besides standing still (or moving jerky) and moving mouse around.
Would be nice to see basic controls customization on next release! :)
Other than that the game runs fantastic (Athlon X2 64 / GTX260 / 4GB Ram) and sure is enjoyable!
there is going to be a hot fix by next week I can't fix everything with in that time frame but I can fix the most critical errors.
