Setting
The game is set in a Space Western universe - a subgenre of science fiction, that transposes themes of American Western books and film to a backdrop of futuristic space frontiers.
In Exoplanet: FC we have brought together distinctive elements of Wild West, futuristic technologies and feudal society of a distant human colony, placed on a wild and dangerous planet named K'Tarsis.
The planet is going through dark times of crisis and chaos after a massive wave
of gold rush. K'Tarsis is now a "ghost colony" with no law and order except of "the rule of gun and fist".Colonists must struggle to survive in aggressive environment and fight the uprising natives and criminals of all kind.
Style
Exoplanet:First Contact is a balanced Action/RPG mix focused on exploring and interaction with the game's world. There will be no complicated statistic and numbers.
Action is represented by 3rd person shooter with deep gunplay and tactical variability, based on
the so called "Gunslinger Mode" (see the 3d-screnshot in our video!). The "Gunslinger Mode" is an advanced variant of "slow time" game mechanic. It replaces the classic tactical pause but
does not reduce the dynamic of the action that much.
Story
You start your adventures on K'Tharsis as Jack Sharp, a space nomad, who has lost his starship and was enslaved by some criminals. You must recover your freedom and avenge your foes. Explore the dangerous planet and its darkest secrets! Find legendary treasures of mysterious race of so called "Dark Wanderers"! You will become a part of epic events and fascinating stories! Be prepared to take hard choices and be ready to face consequences! It's up to you to be a hero or a villain!

Hi there!
Our development log for Exoplanet: First Contact #8 features a lot of visual improvements for some of the old systems and also gives you another glimpse at the powerful crafting system of the game.
We are using a new ingame item to demonstrate the options for basic crafting mechanics and we hope that our community will understand the potential of this solution.
We feel that this a bit more “survival-like” way of creating and combination useful things suits better for our Frontier planet setting than lots of shops, vendors and random loot generation.
For the background music in this episode we took one of the new ambient tracks composed by Simon for even more desolate places than canyons around the Outpost 74.
Right now you can help us greatly in promotion of our game by voting for Alersteam on IndiesCrashE3 site. The top 10 nominees will get a free pass to E3 2013!
If you like our game vote for it on Greenlight:
You also can support the development directly and get access to the playable alpha and all updates including final game when it will be released.
Thanks a lot for your interest and support!

any chance of a Linux version?
We review this option. If there will be enough people interested in Linux version we definitely will support this platform.
ah ok thanks for the info, hope to see it
What Engine are you using?
Anyway looks amazing, but there's another game like this one that is looking for money in kickstarter.
We are using our own engine - Sahara Engine
By the way, what is name of that game that is on Kickstarter?
The HUD really seems/reminds to the Gothic 3 one!
Perhaps it is because Gothic is one of the games we are inspired by =).
Anyway this is temporary design of the HUD, and later we will make it more stylish and unique.
I'm sorry i can't remember, anyway you 're doing a great job!
PS: Linux version?
Thank you! =)
