Demon Core is a first-person survival action game, featuring an edgy female protagonist; a scientist forced to take up arms when everything falls apart.
Aspects of the game are unique artistic style combining near-future high technology with exotic Russian design and innovative gameplay elements allowing you to:

  • Hide in the shadows and blend in with victims, even pretend to surrender. Take an edge in combat and defeat the enemy by using your wits.
  • Use your own and stolen weapons to set up traps and triggers. Take control of the trap, create your strategy and take out the remaining few enemies while they are disorganised.
  • Perceive the enemy chain of command and see the team dynamics that you can affect by targeting the right man at the right time.
  • Identify distinctive personality of each enemy, defining his behavior in combat.

  • Immerse yourself in the game using Microsoft Kinect or NaturalPoint TrackIR to detect your head movement and reproduce it in-game.

We believe in delivering high quality even in an indie game. We've set ourselves a goal of setting new standards for the production values and quality of indie games. As of now, we expect Demon Core to be finished around Q4 / 2014, but no release date has been decided yet.

Meanwhile, be sure to check out out homepage and like us on Facebook to keep yourself up to date on what's happening with Demon Core! The IndieDB will be updated regularly as well, but you can catch the news earliest on our Facebook page

We're on Greenlight as well, so if you like what you're seeing, show your support by giving the thumbs up!

Time for a new update!

Demon Core is coming up nicely and the team has been working hard on the development. The environments and geometry are mostly finished. There are still some bits and details that need a little ironing out, but we're very satisfied with where we are at right now!  Here are a couple of screenshots, which display some of the inner parts of the laboratory.

A lot of work has been put into the AI as well. AI behaviour is one of the key features of Demon Core and we want to make sure it functions just the way we've visioned it to function.

There's still a lot to be done, but we'll keep you updated with what we've been up to!

Until the next time!

-Apex Games team

PS: Here's our latest video; our faithful lab assistant Mishka gives us the bulletpoints of how the traps work. Fear not, the target dummies do not represent the AI in any way :P
