The project's been going for quite some time now and usually just post image / video updates but thought I'd add a news update with a little more detail.I originally started out with an aim to learn Cryengine using this as a live project and pretty much continued to expand the map over time mixing elements from the book and the film.As a one man project progress is a little slow with work commitments but I've tried to make the work that has been done as close to a playable state as possible and whenever I can I add new content, most recently I've been working on adding the visitor center restaurant and will eventually add the kitchen.

Cretaecious cafe,work in progress.

The helipad and waterfall are also taking shape and I'm linking the center area of the park to the helipad area and working on adding detail between and some additional smaller areas.

Aftermath-Waterfall progress

Behind the scenes there's also some work on various sound elements and some small interactive area's such as elevators, triggered fx and elements for the player to explore. My future aim is to work in more gameplay elements (will post a video update when I do) and finish the bulk of this section of the park.

Why is this game a first person shooter. That can either add to the game if done right, but if you mess that up and risk making a beautiful Jurassic Park map for Crysis 2. Don't make me cry and screw up the idea of the game. A simple survival horror game would have been fantastic and I get even more scared when I noticed there might be HUMAN ENEMIES. All i want is a great survival horror game based off the events in the first film. So far the project looks absolutely gorgeous and many of us would pay any amount to get it day 1 or release. Another thing to point out is that most of what we are shown is just small areas. I dont want a corridor shooter or a small arena to shoot people in. I want to go to the holding pens for all the animals, the open fields where we first saw the Brontosaurus and the animals in the background. Whatever you end up doing, don't make it a beautiful corridor shooting gallery, put in some of the wonder that the first film had but include the terrifying aspects also. Are the dinosaur encounters random, another part of the game that could easily leave me in tears is if the dinosaur moments are scripted. The game looks a lot more open than what we see in other fps games. Having a moment after we gun down raptor and we are terrified in a dark room....and the ground starts shaking from the T-Rex approaching. Moments like this can easily make this game one hell of a ride to play and to keep coming back to. This has been my view on your project, somethings can make or break this game but so far, I am loving what i am seeing!

When is this game predicted to be released. I have been checking weekly and was happy to see all the improvements to it and just listening to the soundtrack just makes me so happy to play this game. If everyone else and I are so excited for this game, you are doing something right. Good luck on completing the project!

This is the best thing i've ever seen anyone do with the Jurassic Park IP. My favorite part of the SNES version is the first person 'wolfenstein' style parts where you are trying to just stay alive. Good luck with this, hope you can bring it to fruition. There would be nothing better than to explore the island, the building, bunkers and labs and just have that sandbox atmosphere to run around the island.
