A squad of soldiers crashlands in the middle of enemy territory. With no leaders alive and no available orders, the group must find a way to deal with their situation and internal conflicts, before a mysterious fog engulfs them and enemy forces hunt them down.

Broken Lines is a game about a group of men with different personalities, ideals, ethical standards and battle plans. Individuals with very different opinions about whether they should carry out their duty - or simply try and survive. You experience their journey from their different perspectives and decide what their goals should be, what they plan, how they carry it out, who will perish and who will survive.

Broken Lines is a simultaneous turn-based tactical game with a rogue-inspired structure. The core-gameplay consists of multiple choice story-events, resource management and missions with pause based planning and real-time execution.

Game play features


• Squad based tactics-game with small scale skirmishes
• Unique and customizable soldiers (stats, traits, special abilities, morale etc.).
• Turn based planning with simultaneous execution
• Tactical depth - suppression, destructible cover, camouflage, stat checks etc.
• Level scores rewarding completion time, casualties, secondary objectives etc.
• Pay sanity and rewind/retry levels to get higher scores and better loot drops.
• Many special unlockable weapons and abilities (smoke, flashbangs, mines,
decoys, mortar strikes, spotter dogs, portable cover etc.)
• Multiplayer mode with short best-of-3 skirmishes for fast 1vs1 sessions

Story and campaign structure


You are a newly appointed rookie lieutenant leading a disorderly squad, fighting for survival in Eastern Europe, during WW2.

During a rescue mission, everything turns sour and you are stuck behind enemy lines with a group of loyal but worthless rookies and hardened commandos with less regard for your leadership abilities. Suffering from shellshock the lieutenant struggles with leading his men while keeping his marbles. In his mind he experiences the combat scenarios, again and again, allowing him to correct his mistakes, but also driving him further towards madness.

Will you force him to sacrifice his sanity to save his men or have him stay sane and watch them die?

Hello everyone!

It has been a couple of weeks since our last update. Since then, we have moved to a new office that has more space and we are settling in nicely. As for the game, we have been experimenting and developing the terrain, textures, models, possible new levels, and a lot more, but we are going to focus on the visual parts in this article.

With the terrain and textures, we are trying to get closer to the natural fall look. Below you can see a comparison of an old and a new screenshot, where you can see the difference in textures and models, like the trees and grass, in the same level:
