Apocalyptic is a small top down survival game built in Scirra Construct set after a nuclear catastrophe, and most of the worlds population is wiped out. The player must build a shelter inside a building, and then collect resources to survive against zombie attacks and rival NPCs.
Barricades in Apocalyptic act like blocks, and are placed in the same way. They are simple to build, only requiring Planks and Screws, and therefore are crucial to surviving the early game. They also don't require any Skill Levels (more on that later).
Since they are placed like a block, they can be used to make simple structures. However, you'll find that they are relatively weak and zombie enemies will be able to brake through them quickly.
Can you shoot through them?
Currently no, but that's because they're part of the Wall class object family. It's easily changable, and only temporary.
I guess it would make sense to be able to shoot through them- what's your opinion?
They should definitely be able to be shot through, otherwise they would be quite pointless for actual defense.
Ok then- in it goes. Although it isn't finished yet, I had plans for barriers such as sandbags and low walls. Those would come into the "base building" part of the game, which usually comes after the first stage where the player is simply trying to survive.
I'm going to finish working on that first stage before I start on the base building.
Yeah i'd prefer we'd be able to shoot through then. Why would i want to build a wall to trap myself in a room "waiting" for death :D
Anyways GREAT job! Very exciting where this is going!
