Apocalyptic is a small top down survival game built in Scirra Construct set after a nuclear catastrophe, and most of the worlds population is wiped out. The player must build a shelter inside a building, and then collect resources to survive against zombie attacks and rival NPCs.
I changed my mind. I will include a NPC type in the World Demo R2. The "Military Soldier" can be both your best friend, or your worst nightmare. In the finished version, they will guard army bases and conduct patrols.
In the upcoming version, a small chopper will fly in overhead, and drop off a small squad. That squad will then proceed to a random point in the world, and then get picked up again.
A single squad can rip through Stalker zombies pretty quickly, making them useful allies. However, pissing off the army will allow you to steal weapons, ammo, unique items and more importantly, vehicles and mechs to wage war upon the other NPC camps.
So they just keep going until they are all dead what then do you just spawn a new squad that will take their place? also Mechs?
Well, squads main goal is to reach their destination point in their patrol, and engage any hostiles they encounter.
I'm trying to make the world a little more dynamic, so, there is no limit (almost) to the amount of zombies or NPCs that can "spawn" (helicopters bring in patrol squads), just I'm trying to balance it with NPCs that hunt the zombies as well as run. Also, due to the fact that the map will be really large, and going between towns will be important, having some sort of transportation will be essential. The game is set in the near future, so as well as normal vehicles there are also mechs and a few other types of futuristic vehicles... nothing is solid though.

A couple of questions though... will there be other enemies besides zombies? I'm not complaining or anything though, I reaaaaalllly like zombie games :)
No worries, feedback is always appreciated! There will be a lot of types of zombies, each hopefully as unique as possible.
But, as well as combating zombies, you may find yourself fighting off thugs or later in the game, when the player can direct attacks against other human camps.
