This is a 2 part video tutorial on how to take a model created in 3D Studio Max 2008, apply textures to it, and export the textured model into the Crysis: Sandbox 2 editor.

In this tutorial you will learn how to apply a Multi Sub-Object material to a model, use UVW mapping modifiers to properly place and scale a texture, and finally export the model to Crysis Sandbox 2.

Hows CE3 doing?

The editor(from the beta) is amazing.

We're building up assets and work in preparation for the move to CE3 on its release at present.. we'll announce when we've done so.

Very nice. Thanks for that tutorial. Nice to see some in-game shots as well.

Though I must say cram some more polys into that house and like chamfer those corners and add detail around windows and doors. Like frames and such and perhaps some gutters. Now it looks very much like a box (and for what i saw in the video the others were quite box like too).

Nice wall textures though but the roof tiles were a bit boring.
Add some dirt/moss/leafs or something to bring out its an old house.

The rest of the environment looks nice!
Really looking forward to play the game. I have been following this for quite a while now.
Good luck in your game making!

First, please bare in mind the area and work we've put in is still very much a work in progress. A lot may change between now and the tech demos release!

We'll look at adding more detail to the houses for a later release, we just want to get the environment set up for gameplay and the general feel first - the polishing is yet to come.

The dirt/moss/leaves are being added via decals, as I say - we're not quite at the polishing phase yet. ;)
