Hobo: Tough Life is a RPG, where you play as homeless guy.
It's a survival RPG situated into an attractive city environment. The game is supposed to be tough. You will have to deal with hunger, hostile environment, human unconcern and with forthcoming winter.
On the other hand we want to be storytellers as well. We will tell stories inspired by those less fortunate from real life, but also stories somewhat romanticized. We want to balance those approaches, because we are not trying to make some sort of realistic simulation, but after all we want to create a game.
Who are we?
We are a small team from the heart of Europe - the Czech republic. We've always loved games with a good story and interesting mechanics. We like games, that are somewhat challenging for the player. We try to approach our development with that in mind.
You can read more about the background of our work on our development blog.
Main features of our game will include:
Explore the hidden nooks of the city and look for useful items to help you survive. Discover various attractive locations, such as a subway station, the central square, a park, and others.
Enjoy a gripping story in the background of your fight for survival. Make friends and enemies, solve quests and puzzles, and find your own way to the end.
Fight for your life on the merciless street. Search bins for food and booze. Beg, resort to pick-pocketing, do literally anything to make it through another day. Get something to burn to keep yourself warm, for the weather is about to get worse. Freezing winter nights may be your biggest enemy, but not the only one, so be aware of unpleasant surprises lurking in the dark corners of the city.
How far in the development is the game?
We have been working for several months already, so we have big portion of main mechanics done. We are focusing now on getting the development guild to the state, where we can shoot some early gameplay footage. (this should be a matter of days).
Than we want to start our GREENLIGHT campaign. So we will need soon your help.
