I LOVE SP-Mapping !!!

By now it is clear that i have moved on from the Source community to other games and communities. I have been making Source sp-mods for around 12 years now and although it was great i had to stop with it. Source really gets old, at least for me, and there are so many great games and editors out there that i simply had to move on. Also does the Source community get smaller day by day.

After i stopped with Source in 2016 i believe i didn't do anything for a while. Quit odd because i always mapped daily for many, many hours. But suddenly i didn't feel that anymore, and also didn't i know which game i wanted to map with. I did some small side track projects, maps that didn't take much time to make. So was there the side scroller game Serious Sam Bogus Detour, i made 2 levels with, named Ship Wreck,which can be found here;

After that i did notice that i could make levels with the funny side scroller Broforce, and in a few weeks i made 12 very challanging levels with it. The Broforce community seems to apriciate those so much that they all became tranding topic in the Broforce online custom map section. You can find the first level here;

And then came Far Cry 5, i had been waiting for this game for quit some time now. And as soon as i had my hands on it i started mapping with it. Awesome stuff, although making sp (single player) maps with it is quit hard. Because there is no coding at all possible. To call it simply, all you can do is build a world and place enemies in it, you can make them spawn in 5 waves but that is all. No triggering of any events, not even the option of placing save triggers. Which mean that when you die you have to start all over from the beginning of the level. This all made me decide to stop for now with Far Cry5 mapping and go on with Dying Light mapping. Here is my FC5 map;

I am almost done with my Dying Light level, it has tons and tons of coding options. To be honest, it has to much for my liking, lol. But, it does give me the change to do whatever i want with it, and the game itself is simply awesome! One downside is that the game is already 3 years old, so the DL community is not so big anymore as it was as when it was just released. But, i still want to make at least one map with it. As soon as i have it uploaded i will make a page for it here.

I apologize in advance if i've said these words before, but i'm not kidding when I say that I HIGHLY prefer your "Coastline to Atmosphere" version of EP1 over the bland vanilla variation of it, being VERY dead serious here...! <3 An excellent job on that, and if you did work on "Strider Mountain' then know that you have MAJOR kudos there as I love that mod as well. ^-^

Thanks for your comment, Strider Mountain is indeed also a mod of mine. I made quite a few Hl2 mods in fact besides Coastline to Atmosphere and Strider Mountain. To name them; LeonSPmappack, Final Project, and of course my latest and biggest one Ep3; The Closure. Glad you like them so much, thank you for downloading and playing. I made tons of other mods for other fps shooter games. There are too many of them to name them here, best is to just click on these 2 links to see them all if you wish;

About the episode 3 missing voicelines: I removed all of the mods that are using hl2 content from sourcemods folder and they still aren't working

I am very sorry because without those voices you miss the whole storyline. It is a mystery to me why this happens though because when I check new gameplay videos on Youtube it seems that most other people don't have this problem.

Thanks for checking taking out other mods from your source mods folder did help, a shame it didn't.

Well, I Wanna say thats Ur mods and mappacks is really cool, especially The Closure. As for me it is one of the best mods in a last few years. As for me this mod is cool like Underhell and Nightmare House 2. And I like Ur SP mappack where U hafta destroy the power plant, I replaying it from time to time, like vanilla HL2 (2005 nostalgia, U know XD)

Hey! just a random short lil question. do you by chance remember where you got that jazz music that plays in coastline to atmosphere, as well as the... museum? in the closure, i love that song to death.

I am quit sure that i know which song you mean because i also LOVE that song SOOOOO much, that is also why i kept using it in all my mods. I tried to look for a example of it by looking through all my youtube video's because it is in there to but couldn't find it. So just to be sure, i assume you mean the song in The Closure that is called Leon4b.mp3. Can be found in mod here;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\Halflife2-Episode3\sound\RR\leon4b.mp3
When that is the one then i am very sorry, but i don't know the original name anymore. Back then when i first used it, in Coastline to Atmosphere, i renamed it to Leon4b. But, i do remember were i did get it from. As far as i remember did i take it, like many other songs, from the game Call of Duty, the first one, (only like COD1+2, not the later ones). Should i be mistaken, then i did take it from the game Medal of Honor (MoHaa). But i believe it was from COD 1. Great song indeed, so small and original and jazzy, love it! Glad you do to, :)

Ah, i see. well it's no biggie, i'll see if i can find it myself... by the way i really love your mods! i even used them [closure > strider mountain > coastline to atmosphere] in a little story i made up by myself, near the end. since i'm... weird like that.

Another question i ask is what the ending music of coastline to atmosphere is, as well as 'thebirth.mp3' from strider mountain. assuming you don't mind me asking. thanks!

Edit: found out that the ending music of coastline to atmosphere is call of duty 1's ending theme. just leaves the SM question. again thanks!

No, you may always ask. Like it when i can talk about my mods, so no problem at all. That music piece The Birth, i am not sure were i took that from but i am almost sure i did take it from Soldiers of Fortune 2 (pc game). In fact, as you probably have recognized do i use a lot of music again and again in my mods. This is because i liked them so much that i kept using them. So i will name them here, i used a lot of sound effects from a very old 1995 game called Mortal Coil, a 3th person shooter. And almost all music files from Bloodrayne 1, also a 3th person shooter hack and slash game, really fun game. Then i used a lot of music of Soldiers of Fortune 2(SoF2), Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. But i am not quit sure anymore which song comes from which game. SO that piece The Birth, it probably is from Sof2 but i am not completely sure anymore. Not sure if your familiar with SoF2, if not then you really should get it, its still a AWESOME game. Made a lot of sp-mappacks with it which you can see on my youtube page and here on my profile under Mods and Addons. Believe it isn't on sale anymore, but you can easely download a torrent, takes you a few minutes and you have the whole game.

By the way, how funny, that you used my mods for a story of your own. Always great to hear such things. A guy told me months ago that he made a small new end to the Closure by adding extra characters to the final cutscene, was great fun. Its a shame that i stopped with HL2 modding, but after 16 years i simply had to stop, am mapping now with Far Cry5, which is also great fun.
