Never seen that video. I read about it somewhere else. No need to be rude, like I said, I wanted to test it, didn't say if it was true or not.

Yes, but the original version was supposed to have a 4th ending not found in this version.

*minor spoiler*

Supposedly just before Curly first see's you and walks away in the Sand Zone, you could have shot a brick above the starting transporter and got to Curly's room before she saw you and this was the start to the ultimate ending. Instead of fighting Curly, the others would stop her from attacking you. This was supposed to explain why there are those sets of 2 breakable bricks near Curly's room and the set on the right just revealed a gap in the floor for the sake of being a gap, it was really the exit way from the passage starting beside the transporter.

I would love to try the original and see if this was true.

Maybe until the true demo is available, maybe make a link for the low-res version and list it as a "Proto-type" demo?

I just install WINE on Mint 64bit to see if that would install the 32bit libs to play this game. Before installing WINE, it wouldn't run, complaining about the lack of 32libs. After installing WINE, started playing. (and crashes after the woman says "Yes")

If I remember right, the game was written with XNA which means that in order for there to be a linux port they would have to re-write the entire game. So while it would be nice to have a Linux version, I'm doubting it will happen

Its a parody title and "Breath of FIre" is a part of it. The whole game is a parody of all sorts of RPGs, ranging from the title (Breath of Fire, and Final Fantasy VII. This is the only Breath of Death game), to things like the silent Hero (Crono) and other typically concepts found in RPGS from the SNES era of RPGs.

Do both. By getting the PC version it shows the developer that PC users want these games just as much as console players do. Getting only the console version tells the developer that you have no interest in PC gaming and only encourages developers to not bother developing for PC and only go for console markets.

While not a great fix, this seems to work. When the game needs to be reinstalled (It will say Not Ready in the list menu, go into the desura/common/cave-story folder and copy the Profile.dat file. That is your save game file. After reinstalling Cave Story, put the Profile.dat file back in. Now you can continue where you last saved.
