During Summer :)
Well, it's a learning process...
In our last two projects (Syndrome and this one, yet to be released), we made sure that the same thing wouldn't happen.
We do have some plans on the drawer. The war gaming calling is always there buzzing inside the head :)
Things got complicated when we got a publisher.
A lot of freedom of execution was lost.
Our artist (Boris) usually starts by creating a high poly mesh. Then on top a very accurate low poly shell to project the high poly model on it.
If you create a model that is too far away from the high poly model, you'll get weird things and the normal maps will be awful. He mostly uses xnormal and never had any bugs with it, although from what he could see, xnormal only seemed to work with OBJs from Zbrush.
Friendly or foe is too black and white. Let's say they are in a gray area. They have their own agenda.
Thanks :) We're putting a lot of love in the character creation
Nice comparisons. It does have some of their looks :)
It's a NPC.
The player will never be seen in third person :)
Thanks :)
Lighting is one of the most important aspects in this game
Cloaked and silent can be too deadly, yeah :)
Maybe some grunts to warn the player and create more tension.
That's just it. Sometimes it gets really frustrating to be completely defenseless. It's possible to create a horror environment, making the player feel vulnerable, without taking out all forms of combat. That's what we're doing here :)
We don't have plans for a demo version, but there will be gameplay videos for sure.
Thanks Kylo :) We're putting a lot of effort in the visuals
There are some influences ;)
Thanks, we appreciate it :)
Well, kind of. It's an exciting day, but very stressful at the same time. Haven't had a proper celebration yet :)
It's going to be released on retail on January 23rd. I believe it will be on shops too, but it can be found online:
Exactly :) If you ally with a faction, his rival will turn against you.
Maximum 4 allies.
The Noctae Republic will always side with the player; the other 3 will depend on whoever the player decides to back.
Glad you like it :) You'll soon have the chance to play it. Less than one month until release!
Happy to hear that :) We took our time planning and designing guns, armors, mechs, etc. We're really trying to create a cool setting that we can continue expanding in the future.
The bring the equipment; they don't sell it separate ;)
We can use other factions' tech when they are our allies. Like these shields, for example. But their exclusive to this unit.
And we can have super-tough soldiers, when they're all maxed up in experience in abilities :)
But there is no salvaging.
The Power Shield and Siege Pistol are a unique set of equipment belonging to House Leonis. Most of the factions have their own equipment sets, but they can use "generic" weapons too.
It is a gatling gun (Autocannon). It's stationary when the mech is stopped too :D
But answering the question, it doesn't have the rotation animation (yet).
The cultists have a unique weapon, the power staff. Stronger at long range, weaker at close range.
Their ability list includes defensive and support powerups (depends on the branch that's developed when levelling up) which can boost the squad itself, or nearby allied squads.
