Man, this is the true oldschool HL1/avp2-like experience I really miss those days.

Tbh I enjoyed your mod more than Doom2016 (which played nothing like Doom, but more like Painkiller), this new 'oldschool' games aren't freaking oldschool at all - all style, no substance.

Keep it up! Looking forward to next episodes!

your game looks like FEAR, which is damn compliment since gameplay and immersion-wise FEAR series is unparalleled to this very day.

I also quite like not only the gore system, but the fact that player actually exist in game world - so you is actually connected to environment, you block light, drop shadow and push physics. This is absolutely awesome, should be really great to be immersed into proper physical gorefest and feel like your character really has an impact and not just flying camera.

There is none, no matter enabled actors body or not.

Tbh legs are making it even worse since it only makes it more obvious that player is flying camera. For a mod that tries to be as immersive as possible, it's kinda important for player character to properly exist in game world. I'd take player shadow over legs any day.

Being a flying camera ruins immersion, player should block light properly. Most Stalker mods has it.

Anyway, you should put screenshots and info on split screen to the store page. For some folks it might be the most important feature since there isn't a lot of shooters to play together on single PC these days.

Any ETA on release? I'm really looking forward to your game now, gotta wishlist and follow on steam :3

Demo is great. Has the same feeling as playing Stalker with vehicles mod (and I never been able to replicate the feeling in any game before yours).

Also this hits home, bald big dudes on Lada car trying to stop you on lonely road... this is some post-soviet nightmare that's for sure, '90s in russia' vibes. Unique feeling, the game seems like nightmare created from eastern bloc fears.

Anyway, good stuff you got here. I'm really looking forward to it.

Not enough games in 'roadtrip' genre these days. and your one has absolute ton of potential.

wow, just played 0.4 version. This stuff is really great. You should put in on steam! Never enough of split screen games. Especially randomly generated. I'm not into hassle of donating, but I'd instantly bought it if it were released on steam. I'm very glad that you didn't drop the project, it's very fun game that deserves a proper release.

Also, could you make player body visible in first person for non-vr mode? So it doesn't look weird with flying items and player shadow doesn't disappear in first person. It'd be rad for immersion (it's horror game after all) and unity definitely allows that easily, I've seen it a lot of times in different unity games.

It's pretty simple to make original HL map to work in HLS. It takes a lot of time due to lack of VMFs - you need to decompile maps before fixing them (and decompiling often brings a bunch of bugs). And complex scripting is the main problem. You can port even Quake maps into latest Source branches (like Black Mesa or CSGO) like in 15 mins, but making them work outside of simple spectatoring is real pain.

Gearbox themselves could do it in mere week. But they never did.

I'd taker proper exploration over DOOM2016 one any day - it used mechanical exploration to push unlocks by numbers, which I disliked quite a lot (yeah, every level has this type of secret/unlock etc). Original Doom, Quake, Serious Sam and even newer semi-oldschool games like WolfTNO used exploration as a mean to make your life easier (D2 and Q), harder or show easter egg (Serious Sam), to tell something new (D3 and WolfTNO) or to show you something interesting in the environment. Even Rage is vastly better than DOOM2016 in terms of exploration and environment storytelling. Also I find combat in DOOM2016 more resembling Painkiller than any Doom game, which isn't a bad thing in itself, but was disappointing since everyone praises it like true doom. And ****** mod support to the mix. So your mod looks like 'that one game' for me, you are hitting the right spots and I hope quality would be great as well. I really looking forward to playing it.

А тень от игрока будет? Мне всегда нравится что в модах к сталкеру у игрока есть тень - т.е. игрок больше не летающая камера с руками, а блокирует свет и отбрасывает тень как все остальные объекты в мире. Мне кажется это важно очень важно, чтобы игрок чувствовал что он реально существует в мире, а не камера с руками прилепленными к экрану.

А в игре будет полноценный вид от первого лица? Чтобы ноги видно, отражаться в зеркалах и чтобы тень отбрасывал персонаж на всё и тени падали на персонажа. Это сильно придаст интерактивности и погружения игре, что важно для атмосферы. Хотя бы тени и зеркала было бы неплохо, в конце концов реалистичная графика это не самая главная часть для погружения и атмосферы, главное чтобы игрок мог чувствовать что его персонаж так или иначе существует только в связке с миром, постоянно, а не просто нажимает в кнопки чтобы в мире случались какие-то вещи при помощи магии из летающей невидимой камеры. И уж тем более когда в кооперативе второй персонаж визуально явно будет полноценно существовать в мире при этом. Даже в алхемилле были отражения (хотя и без теней, что не имело значения сильного ибо освещение было достаточно статичным). Было бы очень круто.
И уж пугаться своей тени в хоррорах - редкая, но очень очень приятная вещь.
