Description

A drawing that started as a simple doodle of the helm until i found a pleasing shape, and finally ended as one of my drawings where i tried to add as much intricate shapes and details to the characters armor. The downside of needing that much space to fill with decorative motifs meant increasing Rugiwits size exponentialy which in turn caused the lack of blank space for making a full body and weapon shot of him. Anyway Rugiwit, the Howling Lord represents an alternate take on the Slavic warrior god, who in my interpretation is wearing a highly ornamented suit of plate armor decorated with floristic patterns as well as shapes that look like mountain ranges, combined with rough leather strips sown together to make form of an undercoat. His armor and his helmet is also adorned with horns and tusks of wild animals, and in his hands the Howling Lord caries a massive double-sided cleaver whose shaft ends in a metal pommel shaped in the form of a rooster - an important animal in Slavic symbolism.
