On this screenshot and the new Facebook post showing the two Anjian drones, it looks like there's smoke sprites coming from the engines instead of heat distortion. Is this a recent change?

An effect to simulate 'dirty exhaust' (?) I suppose? If so I think it oughta be slightly thicker & longer.

Description

As is a consequence of having military doctrines heavily influenced by aerial power and dominance, airliners and civilian aircraft have a difficult time muscling their way through hot airspaces and the occasional SAM defense grid. Those airlines who are able to broker deals with nations and their armed forces are often given right of passage over crucial and more efficient air lanes (with often appropriate IFFs. Many anti-nuclear groups have since tried to gain IFFs from airliners in the hopes of being able to preform attacks this way).

Those businesses who do have agreements however are few and far between, many nations acting on behalf of their own airline corporations in some vague form of capitalistic monopolizing that occasionally results in the accidental splashing of a civilian aircraft due to accidental airspace intrusions.

Seen here is an unmarked 737 being drawn away from a contested coastline, back towards international waters.
