Unbreakable is a hack and slasher with a difference. Merging RTS and RPG mechanics with smooth combat, we hope to create an experience that can be enjoyed over and over again. The Dracorians, a race of dragon tamers, have started a war that threatens to cover the continent in the ash of the fallen. The Elves, their vast expanse of land nothing but charred remains, have taken a stand in their last remaining city of Sylva. To prevent the advance of the Dracorian horde, three towers have been raised, creating a barrier that protects the rest of Arthos from harm; one in the Elven city, one in the northern fortress of Ellental, and one on the coast to the south. Each tower harbors a crystal, and while all three remain intact the Dracorians are unable to send their army in its entirety. Unfortunately, the barrier is not impenetrable. Each tower requires protection against the still formidable force that threatens them, forcing the Elves to call on the race of Men to aid them.

We hope everyone had a great New Year and Christmas break! This month is going to be one of our biggest, as the alpha is coming close to being released.

Four months ago we began a journey that we are now almost able to let everyone else in on. Unbreakable has been coming ever closer to an alpha we're happy to release to the public, and from next month we'll be able to give the reigns to all of you, to test what we've been working on since September.

We've jumped straight back into production, and we now have a very good idea of how close we are - Ellental's Fortress is almost finished, the combat is improving each and every day, and all that's really left is some tweaking and internal testing to make sure the game is as ready as it can be. The goal is in front of us, and we couldn't be happier.

We put up a blog post at the end of last year summarising what we have so far in the engine, which you can read here if you haven't already. Screenshots of the game will be going up at the end of this week on our website (www.labyrinthinteractive.com) but we'll also be sticking them up on here for all to see. If you haven't already, follow us on Twitter (@Labyrinth_Int), find us on Facebook and subscribe to the blog for weekly updates. We'll also be recording our third developer diary during this month, which will give you a good idea of our plan for 2014.
