Tiberian Sun: Reborn brings the exciting storyline and epic clashes from the classic Westwood Studios game, Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun to realm of first person shooters, with a twist. We've remained loyal to the style and feel of the 1999 classic, while integrating content from its expansion Firestorm with a bit of updated history to add to the mix. Built off the W3D engine Westwood Studios built for classics such as Earth & Beyond and Command & Conquer: Renegade finished up in 2001, we help bring the fight to you as you play out your role as any one of a number of infantry classes participating in team-based combat that often involves land, sea, and air combined-arms clashes that just don't happen in any other game. Oh, and did we mention it's FREE?
A testing video, made by VERTi60 on the 13th of June, 2015. In it, a sneak preview of the Enforcer Unit, new Jumpjet Logic, and several other features can be seen.
It would be so nice if you could rebalance the gameplay to be less Renegade-ish and more Battlefield-ish. Video looks cool.
Renegade-ish? What do you mean exactly?
Nothing that would make practical sense on this engine, I'm guessing.
I'd love love love love to see a game take a more tactical style a la battlefield 2142 and earlier within the C&C setting, but I don't think you could do anything different from a team arena shooter given the engine. That being said, the design for Tiberium sounded like it was set to break that mold, but EA seems to think it's not fit for the likes of us.
@GeneralCamo: I mean the gameplay. How you can shoot like an infinite number of missiles at a dude and he is not dying.
I guess I mean a bit more realistic balancing but it should obviously still be rewarding to play as infantry.
Aaah, finally Sub mechanics. Will Sub APCs work too?
Sub Mechanics have existed for a long time. You can play with them in the current release version actually.
O.o? How do I use them? I just redownloaded the game about a week ago, and tried pressing every button while in a Devil's Tongue and nothing happened...
(I was on Singleplayer, though)
Press 'Q'. This is also used for the Tick Tank's deploy ability, and the Jumpjet's flying ability.
