I am hoping for some OP spells at OP levels, for higher tier items, now.
Would be great if those Ice Staves unlocked a Lvl5 Cold spell.
I have a question: supppose I learnt stoneskin level 3 and I equip this item, will I cast stoneskin at spell level 4 or 1?
Instead of levelling each spell individually, heroes now have a global 'spell proficiency' which increases the level of all of their spells. There isn't any spellcasting chance anymore, so Ritual and Intelligence now determine the level of a hero's spells. Items like the above give access to a spell if it says +1. If it says +2 or +3 etc, then the spell will be cast at the hero's spellcasting level +0, +1 or +2 respectively. It's a bit confusing. It could be clearer if it said spell level +0 (or just that it gives access to the Stoneskin spell, either way).
Ah, I see. I get your point. Thanks for the detailed explanation. Also, from your explanation I get the impression that 0.9 is almost a complete overhaul from its previous version. No wonder it takes you guys so long. Appreciate your time and efforts on the project, now I'm really looking forward for 0.9!
