An epic image of ZeroKnight's space station. I suspect he likes green. I believe his intention is to spin this thing when it's done, giving the section on the left gravity.

Cheers,

Are those green lights?

ZeroKnight may be able to produce 1 g of gravity out in that section on the left. According to this handy rotational gravity calculator I found (http://www.artificial-gravity.com/sw/SpinCalc/SpinCalc.htm), for a radius of 28 meters which the station has at that section, it'll need to rotate 5.65 times per minute, or just under once per 10 seconds.

The calculator creators feel that *may* be an uncomfortable number of RPM for a structure with that radius. Course you could get a lower gravity, say .5 gs, with about 4 RPM.

Mathematical!

Well that's interesting :) Keep in mind that when the actual "dome" is built, the floor will be even farther than 28 meters, so that should bring me even closer to that butter zone ;)

Heh, "butter zone." So the dome will be made of butter? ;)

Thanks for hosting the image, Dirson! I feel the love :D
And you suspect damn right! I LOVE green ;) Hence why the station itself is made out of granite...I chose it simply because when I JUST picked this game up, Wazubaba said granite was green XD I'll be replacing that with something else later with a save file find/replace.

You are correct on that account as well! When rotationally-simulated gravity is implemented, each section of the station will indeed spin, giving the several struts simulated gravity :)

Yes they are! Check out the previous pics in the series for a technicolor space freighter, courtesy of Dirkson's varicolored lights!
