I thought I fulfilled my duty - the dungeon cleared, head of the Fallen One delivered to king's court. Clearly I must have overlooked some of evil servants. Moreover, while escaping they took Slavic gods statues with them, master controlling them, thus becoming powerful foes. Now I'm blamed of evil spreading around the country and forced to sort it out. It's gonna be tough ...
I'm glad to announce that after 3 years of development, Once upon a Dungeon II is close to jumping into a beta phase.
It was quite a task, thousands of lines of code, hundreds of hours spent on drawing sprites in Blender 3D. Designing UI and game mechanics. A lot of effort, but also a lot of fun.
The game is a traditional roguelike with an open world, dark dungeons, intense hack/slash gameplay and a scent of Slavic mythology.
The game features cartoon 2D graphics with dynamic lighting.
In terms of mechanics it has a cool crafting system, ally support, teleport system, tons of various loot, passive and active abilities, and a dialog/quest system.
Just recently I've started a Kickstarter campaign that started 25.11.2022 and would last for 10 days.
My goal is to gather funds that will allow me to make the game move appealing by adding original soundtrack and voice acting to it.
the game has over a dozen NPCs, each will have a unique voice. Currently there are about 500 sentences to be spoken, I think the final version might have twice as many.
Voice will be in the English language, though if there are enough players interested in having it in another language, it can be easily added.
I'd like to have 30 minutes of music in total. It will be mostly ambient music as it matches a turn-based game.
Check it out, as it's an opportunity not only to support a game but also get a Steam key for it on the day of the game's launch.
You can help us out by going to the Once upon a Dungeon II Kickstarter page - any donations are appreciated.
Once upon a Dungeon II is scheduled to be released in stable version 1.0 on Steam late Q1 2023.
