Why does every NPC in my game is NB?

Hello proud turtles!

I just wanted to share story why canonically every character in my open-world game Little Odyssey is non binary. And the answer is quite simple: pronouns are hard.

But here is some context to explain what I mean: in my game most NPCs don't have unique dialogues, but instead choose from a big selection of random lines. So, for example, you can ask every NPC where different NPC they know lives.
But here comes the problem: For this to work grammatically correct, I would have to know pronouns of every Tongs Delta citizen. So here is an easy solution: "They live in that city over there" or "That's their house". Just use gender-neutral pronouns!

And since the game takes place in fantasy land I have complete control over, let's embrace this completely. So I declare: It's intended and canon. Happy pride everybody! 💖
